I think I may have an EC grad!!!!!!! Its been weeks since he had an accident in his training pants (well he had a couple but he TOLD us he had to go, we just couldn't get him anywhere at the time). Even at night, he wakes us up about 7-8 am for the potty then back to bed!!!!
I'm thinking we are going to jump to undies now (need to find some that fit a 17month old!). But he is telling us when he needs to go all the time now! I'm so supper excited!!!!!!!!
Now Its time to work on the potty learning part.... so teaching him to pull down his bottoms (he kind of does), get on the toilet on his own and wipe and put pants back on. But i'm so proud of him for having the communication part down
Thanks for listening I just need to brag a touch because some of my friends still think I'm crazy! LOL

AND I made popcorn on the stove today....so I'm feeling kind of like a domestic goddess! LOL

That is exciting and such a proud mommy moment! I think Oliver PT was like the proudest I've ever been of him so far. I think you will most likely still be helping him with the wiping for some time to come! At least to make sure he cleaned him self up well enough. lol Oliver can pull his pants up and down but I still go with him and help him out to make sure he makes it in time.

YAY for London! That's great!!!!

Wiping himself may take some time, Liam took forever to wipe himself well enough and Lochy was until he was just under 3 before he could do it good.

It's so hard to find underwear to fit tiny hineys. We use Gymboree boxer briefs and the 2T/3T size fit my tiny guys well at just 2 years old (and they were both very small 2 year olds).

I'm so proud! I am very excited about doing EC when the time comes, and sharing your successes is really helping to convince my DH to do it too. Way to go, Angela!!

Excellent!! WTC London!

Amara went diaper free New Year's weekend and I'm still amazed at how smoothly it went. She does not wear diapers at home except for bed time and at naptime (I change her once she goes to sleep but so far she has not wet during her naptimes). She doesn't always tell me when she needs to go, she just goes. She rarely has had an accident since we went diaper free.

I'm working on getting her to tell me as this will help her transition at school. I told them she is potty training and they put her in panties after the morning break. If I can get her to tell everytime she wants to go, she could wear panties all the time there. They're do the combo so the children can adjust to the different environments. They say sometimes a lot of the kids train at home but when they come to school, they get so caught up in play, etc, that they do not say or go to potty.

awesome!! i'm so happy hearing about your EC journey. what a big boy you have!

I'm going to be harping on you for sure about EC stuff in the next little while...
I actually just bought a little teeny plastic potty from Ikea today so I'd have it ready for my little girl.

What age did you start EC with London again? How long did it take for you to get in the groove? Like how many dirty diapers a day can you avoid with EC? All of them?

Also, WTG on the popcorn lady! i LOVE stove top popcorn, you can add in a tbsp or two of white sugar when you add the corn to the oil too and it makes sweet kettle corn (i add salt after too). YUM!

I started at 4 weeks. I would have started earlier but I forgot I was going to do it! LOL I was way to busy just staring at him By 4 months he only went poop on the potty (still hasn't had a poop accident!). between 3 and 6 months I noticed my timing with his was getting way better---he was never really a "read the cues" baby it was more just timing for us. By 6 months I could tell he was holding he pee till he had to chance to go. 10 month he made the potty sign but I don't think he knew what it was yet. At 11 month he would make the potty sign while ON the potty. About 12-14 month he started using the sign when he had went. and in the last couple months it just clicked and he started using it when he needed to go! 12 months we were in trainers during the day. And at 16 months trainers at night. I did it pretty part time. We always had diapers on when out and I probably could have gotten ride of the diapers fast but I really liked the look of my fluffy butt stuff! LOL Next time I'm not buying as much fluff...which is the biggest down side for me

I will have to try the sugar next time!

That's awesome news

Bigger can be better when it comes to undies... easier for them to get on and off in a hurry They might have a touch of droopy butt but it helps!

Ya the wiping thing can take a while... haha

WTG LONDON! That is wonderful!

I wish I was able to do EC full time! We only do it with poopy, it'll all I have time for. I'd love to do it full time with the new baby but I don't see it happening.

Thats fab .. chloe at 21 months tells us when she has had a "wee wee" or a poo "I stink mummy" but she can't connect the two with the toilet ... she was in pants for a week with only 3 accidants .. but she stressed herself out so much those 3 times she peed in her knickers that I put her back in nappies because I don't want to start creating sissues with training!

How on earth to you know what the cues are - I'm literally staring at my bub all the time, and don't notice anything!! The only thing is he always seems to poo when I'm feeding him.

For us it was more timing instead of cues..... he went after every nap/sleep (with in the first 5 min of waking). 30-45 min post food once he was older and awake post feeding LOL when he was really little I just took him when I changed the diaper. And at a couple months old I noticed he pooped the same time about every day so I just sat with longer.
I notice little little cues like he would do the "pee pee"dance but laying down (since he wasn't crawling yet). but timing was our big thing.
