I don't know what it is about. I just know it's a show. We don't have cable.

I saw the commercials too and I'm not sure about it. I was "disturbed" at some parts of the commercials (the lack of support by the partners and the dad who dropped the cell phone on the newborn). I know that the directors will put together clips to spur interest and for ratings so it may not be exactly as it is seen on the TV but I'm just not sure about it. I can't even remember the time it's to show but if it doesn't clash with NCIS then I may watch.

Did anyone watch it? I caught it with my DH. I felt it was really biased negatively towards a woman who wanted to have a natural birth. I really hate medical interventions!!

I watch the UK version... Some of them are Okay others are well... lets say show offs. They play totally up to the camera and it drives me mad! Others totally forget they are there and are totally natural!
If you can I would reccomend watching the Uk version too!

I caught the end of it. I saw the lady with the 23 hr natural labor that ended up getting pit. They did make them seem a bit crazy. But I could understand the nurse's POV too. I've never worked in OB, but it would drive me batty if I wasn't able to monitor the baby at least somewhat frequently, especially if the labor went that long. Your license could be on the line if something goes wrong..even if they are refusing things. If people weren't so lawsuit happy it would be a different thing, but it is hard to go to the hospital now and not expect to be at least monitored close.

I hated how they made the woman going through natural labor look like a crazy person. I also feel bad for the nurse, though. She was just trying to help and do her job. I had an all natural hospital birth with a midwife and was off the monitors most of the time and had no IV but when she asked to check the baby's vitals I would. That being said, this is why I want a home birth next time LoL. When you're in that much pain, you need to focus and trying to get through every contraction, ESPECIALLY in transition. I wanted control over the whole thing. It's hard to just turn off the pain so they can do their job. Anyway, the show is interesting and frustrating, that's for sure LoL.

I saw bits and pieces of the show..
I started to cry when the baby got should distorisa (sp?). Basically the baby got stuck in the birth canal and when the baby was born, she was not breathing and it seemed to take forever to get her to do her first cry..
Then there was the lady with twins, and each baby had a different father..
I didn't see the natural birth one.. I would be like, go girl! lol I couldn't handle the pain.. I begged for my epidural.. lol
