What is the height & weight of your baby/toddler?

Oliver grows soooo slow. He is a light weight at maybe 24.5 lbs. I'm not sure about his height but I think it's close to 34". He has gained maybe 1/2 lb and 1/2" since September. He has been wearing a size 6 in shoes since the beginning of summer I think. Most kids his age are much bigger than him. The 13 month old girl I watch weighs 25 lbs and the 19 month old boy I watch weighs 30 lbs and is only a couple inches shorter than Oliver. Oliver is on the very bottom of the growth chart or maybe he has falled off by now. The little boy I watch is at the 95% for both height and weight. Damon is very skinny and I'm average/slender so maybe that is way Oliver is so small? Or maybe it's because he is so picky and doesn't eat much? To me he looks perfect but when I see him next to other toddlers they all seem huge compared to him!

At his 18 month appointment he was 24 lb, 11 oz (30%) and 34 inches (90%). Dh and I are both skinny and a little taller than average, so that kind of fits what Matthew is doing. He is tall enough that I think sometimes he looks older than he really is, which can be kind of bad in some ways b/c then others expect him to act like an older child.

He used to be higher on the weight percents, but that has steadily gotten a little less over time. I think it's due to being so active and somewhat picky.

She was 20lbs 15oz (5%) at her 18mo appt in October, and I think maybe 22lbs now. And she was 31" (20%) at her 18mo appt. We don't go back till April when she turns 2 so I won't know till then, but then again when we go in for surgery on the 17th I think they will weigh her for her anesthesia.
I feel the same way with Kieran. At playgroup there are 17mo olds that are 2-3" taller and wear 2T+ in clothes. Only 2 her age (one was a premie that has had problems since) that are between 17-24mo that are smaller then her, one is 17mo old and 18lbs (similar to Kieran) but the same height as Kieran I know Kieran gets it from my mom though, mom was like less 110lbs till she had my brother (at 22) and only 5'3"

Seamus is neither a baby or toddler but he's my kid so I want to include him.
He is 48.5lbs (95% and fully clothed) and 43" (95%) according to WIC a couple weeks ago

This is going to be hard to remember Let's see. If I remember correctly Taylor is a little over 3ft tall and is 30lbs or a little over. Rylie goes to the Dr. next month for her 2 year check up and Seth was 11lbs 4oz and 22 inches (I think that's how long he was LoL) at his last appointment. I usually write all their stuff down in their baby books and then forget about it

Jaxon was 22 lbs even at his 12 month appt. Don't know what he is now that he is just shy of 16 months. I would guess 23 lbs??

you seem really concerned, as you've posted about this before. Everyone says that all kids grow at their own rate, etc. BUT...perhaps you should just give the pedi a call to make you feel better. Maybe give him a vitamin each day. Make sure he gets a lot of calories. when Brayden was off the growth chart they told me to add calories anywhere I could. Instead of milk use whole cream, add butter to his foods, give him dips, etc. Not necessarily the healthiest thing if your child is obese....but to get them on a track of gaining a bit of weight it worked perfectly for us. And this was a nutritionist who told me this. I was so hung up on making sure he grew up to choose healthy foods and not be obese with health problems, I forgot the most important food lesson was to live by example and teach him healthy food choices-----no necessarily putting him on a fruits/veggies/no fat/no butter etc diet. Maybe trying him out with baked fish sticks, nuggets, that sort of thing once a day for lunch would help.

And to answer your question. Brayden is now 5, 45" tall and 42 pounds. At 2 he was very underweight (and sick all the time) and he was roughly 24 pounds and 37" tall if I'm right. I got him from off the growth chart to finally around the 40th %

Since losing weight when my supply dipped, Logan has finally just made it back onto the WHO growth charts at 16 lbs 11 oz. I'm not sure how tall he was...last time he was measured was about a month ago I think, and he was 27".

He is smaller then almost every child his age. When he was losing weight, I was worried, but I'm not any more. He is always going to follow his own unique growth curve, and I'm ok with that. I just make sure that I am encouraging him to nurse as often as possible and giving him mostly high quality foods (proteins, veggies, fruit).

I worry because he is picky and such a small eater. My guess is that he is only getting maybe 700-800 calories on a typical day. His doctor said he is fine and not to worry about it. I've asked more than once. I don't worry about fatty foods. I cook with butter all the time. We go through a package of butter every week. I also buy whole fat sour cream, cottage cheese, milk and so on. I also use a lot of heavy cream when cooking certain foods. I made him homeade chicken strips and he will eat those if in the mood. That is the problem. He might eat something one time and then not want it the next time. I'm sure you understand having a picky eater of your own. I not worried about him ever being over weight because no one in my family or Damon's is heavy. Damon is like 130 lbs and all the men on his side are super thin. Oliver will be thin his whole life if he takes after his father. I've bought vitamins for him but I'm not crazy about giving them to him for a few different reasons.

Reid is 36" tall and about 30lbs (per my scale at home and my tape measurer!) I think he's pretty "average" for his age.

Just checked, yep, right around 50th percentile for both. He used to be pretty low on the weight and really high on the height. He's "evened out" haha.

Mia is pretty small for her age. We got her weighed and her height measured at the drs last week. At 3 years she is 29lb and according to the height chart is 34"

She is a size 5 shoe and has only just gone into size 2-3 clothing

If you are lucky you can find natural vits. They are pricey though! I try to give him as much natural or vegetable derived as I can----but now he's older and harder to "force" lol I did give in and let him have the vitamin gummies.

Brayden has always had his favorites that he would eat every day.....then he'd go months with out eating it and I'd be left for a few weeks trying to find SOMETHING he'd eat. Even if he eats the same thing every day all day, I've come to the conclusion that it's fine as long as he gets the multi-vit. and he's eating. 7-800 cals for a lil one is good. I force myself into 1200 and I'm a full grown adult.

I hated B's food choices, but they are what they are. He LOVES the smiley face potatoes. full of preservatives I'm sure, but he'd have starved with out them. Also batter dipped fish and pizza. Those 3 things are our major food groups. And if you can get him to eat pizza then you're options are great. you can cook and ground carrots and spinach into pizza sauce, tomatoes too. Then there's the protein of the meat. And once he really likes pizza you can ever so often substitute a whole grain crust. Not so much though that he won't eat it again. Pudding is also a GREAT thing for us. It has calcium and I can add powdered supplements such as carnation instant breakfast stuff to it, crush up his meds and stir in, etc. Yogurt is another we always have....and I gave up on the organic stuff when he got to be about 4. He'd much rather have the trix stuff or the gogurt stuff. I figured getting him to eat it was worth it and he will eat a whole box of gogurt! And bacon. I can always add fat in with bacon. I get scared of bacon due to the high fat and grease, and the texture so I opted to get the microwave ready bacon that is already pre-cooked. It's much thinner, less greasy, and gets crisper so less of a choking hazard. Plus it's done in 60s haha!

Cheeze-it's if he likes crackers. They're really not THAT unhealthy, and have iron in them.

Toast and butter, and if he will (unlike Brayden) toast and butter with brown sugar sprinkled on top.

then we have our apples, bananas and grabes. Even if he only plays with them, he's touching them and experiencing the texture and flavor if he puts his hands in his mouth and eventually he'll take a bite.

I can get him to eat homemade chicken salad, but only if the chicken is in a can like Tuna. And he eats "toot and puddle" meat. It's well....it's an off brand of treet but way better. It's actual ham and bacon ground up and looks awful but he loves it fried.

Now we've added french toast, pancakes and waffles (blueberry or chocolate chip) with reddi whip (or whatever kind I can find.)

Cereal bars and dry cereal are also on our menu. And they have some really good vegan cereal bars at the health store haha!

These are the basic things B eats in a week. I always offer him what I fix for dinner, he always refuses. About 1x per month I make him take at least 2 bites of dinner before "rewarding" him with his choice. The other day it was a bite of green bean. He chewed, and swallowed, said he didn't like it, and that was that. But he had it! Cereal bars and dry cereal are also on our menu.

I know to others that diet sounds horrible. BUT....this was a kid who was in a 6-9m size clothing for a full year and who was wearing 18m and 2t at 3! He's now in a 6slim! He'll never be overweight I don't think as most people on both sides are either slender or average. His dad's sister is overweight, as is my brother and I had an uncle who was overweight. Other than them, everyone on both sides would be classified as slender or average----and by average I mean the men are probably 34/36's and the women range from a sz 6/8 to a sz 14/16.

I bought some $30 vitamins that I have on hand. Still.. there are a few reasons why I'd rather not give them to him.

Lucky for me Oliver hates most kids junk type foods. I say good because I don't want him eating processed foods. He has things he will eat for a long time and love then take a long break from them. One great thing is he loves soups most of the time. I make him several different soups each week. That is how I get him to get veggies. He also loves fish and seafood. He will eat chicken too so we are good on protein when he is eating foods that he likes. Other favorites of his are yogart, eggs, and fruit. He has been into pb on whole wheat toast lately too. Part of his problem is he only eats a few bites of what he does like and then other times he will finish the whole bowel of soup. I know he won't starve himself but it's the top thing that stresses me out because I have to always find ways to get him to eat and meal planning can be diffcult.

Oliver sounds just like my boys. They're both small for their age. Liam always has been and Lochy started dropping off around 9 months (same for Lila).

At Lochy's 3 year appt. back in October he was 27lbs and 34 inches (barely on the charts). He wears size 24months, 2T, and 3T though the 3's are still a bit big. And he wears a size 7.5 shoe. He's actually a pretty good eater compared to Liam. He'll try things Liam won't touch and generally eats more than him too, he's just small.

At Liam's 5 year appt he was 33lbs and 40 inches (again barely on the charts). He wears size 4 and 5 though the 5's are big. He wears a size 9 shoe (with growing room). Liam is an awful eater, always has been.

Not sure on Lila's stats, I'll have to weigh her later. But she started dropping on the growth charts at her 9 month visit like Lochy did. Until then she was 50th percentile (like Loch was). She also eats just about anything and can really put it away too!

All 3 of my kids are very active too, so that really zaps the calories. I figure as long as they're peeing and pooping regularly they must be getting enough food. They won't let themselves starve. They are healthy, just little.

I would take 1 day a week and make several things for B and just freeze them. Then i'd make dinner for myself and serve him his choice of what I'd already fixed. I'd always let him choose though. I was trying to give him what he'd eat, cut out preservatives and go gluten and casein free hahahaha. I grocery shopped at a health food store inside a pharmacy! I later dropped the gluten and casein free. That only lasted a couple of months!

I've got a big kid.....he was 25 lbs and 32 inches at his 9 month appt...I imagine his weight is the same or lower because he is all over the place but he is VERY tall. Just got him his first pair of shoes and had to get size 6.5.....he is in 18 month pants (getting too short) and 24 month, 2T clothes! I'm tall and DH is also so I fully expect Nolan to be as well.

My little guy is small..So, here is his stats.. 15 month check up..

Height at 15 months, first measurement 28.5 inches ( ZERO percentile), then we re-measured but he was wiggling and then he was 29 inches long ( 10th percentile)

Weight is 21 lbs, which is 10th percentile..

Our Ped is not concerned.. He's been following his own growth curve.

He is also starting to fit into 12 month clothing..
