Strep throat

Add another hash mark to the reasons why J.J needs his tonsils out.

I didn't know it was uncommon for toddlers to get strep. My niece had it around 18 months. When we went to the doctor's a couple weeks ago she said it was going around a lot right now.

Usually kids who are not school-age don't get strep. Not only that but he presents with some of the rare symptoms.

We were discussing starting to vax him SLOWLY as well (starting in the spring time) and shes goes "Well I want to do some research myself first because Johnathan is how shall we say... special... when it comes to medical practice" She wants to also consult with his allergist and see what they both feel would be a good way to start them. We are breaking everything up and doing one at a time and skipping pertussis since as a kid I had a horrible reaction to it.

I'm sorry.. Poor J.J..

At least it's fix able and not a chronic illness.. That's one positive thing about it..

I tend to look at the bright side of things.. I can't tell you how I can't wait for A.J to turn 2 years old.. When he does, I'm keeping a nice big stock of Concentrated black elderberry in the house.. Elderberry is great for colds and it's all natural..

It's for under 2? What brand do you use?

I really like Gaia Black elderberry.. It's super concentrated and you only need to take it twice a day when your sick.. My daughter loves it.. But if they make one for under 2, I'll have to try it..

Amazon.com: Gaia Herbs Rapid Relief Black Elderberry Syrup 5.4 fl oz (160 ml): Health & Personal Care

^-- I use this kind.. And they make a night time one..

Brayden never had strep or tonsilitis (WOW I butchered the spelling, but I have brain mush and I really don't care!) but they took his tonsils out due to his adenoids and tubes (We've talked about this before) and he's NEVER *knock on couch* ever had strep-Even when it was going around his school really bad!
