I was talking to my BFF tonight and we were talking about wedding favors. She and I came to the conclusion that most favors end up getting left behind and is usually just a waste of money. We got to throwing ideas around and she suggested donating to a charity or something that has a lot of meaning to us as a couple. We love the idea. We are thinking about donating to the rescue that we adopted our dog from. Its a non profit and the woman that runs it is amazing and does so only on donations. We love them so much we plan on rescuing another dog from them in a few years. If we did this, we would write something out and put it in a frame on each table explaining that we have donated to the rescue and so on.

My question.. do you think that this would be acceptable to guests?

My sister did a donation favor for her wedding a year ago. Everyone thought it was a nice idea. From what I remember the organization she donated to actually had something to print out and she framed that and put it on the table with the escort cards. I'm assuming you could print something out yourself or maybe see if the shelter has a piece of letterhead you can use to print it on so your guests know its official--not that your family and friends would think you pulled a fast one but, you know.

I think it's a nice idea and better than sending them home with something that will be tossed aside.

That is a really nice idea!
Maybe at each place settng you could put a milkbone with a little note tied to it with a bow?

Thanks ladies! We have both agreed with this idea, along with our parents. I would LOVE to attend a wedding where they did this.

I think it's a great idea. I think wedding favors are usually a waste...unless they are edible. lol.
