I didn't sleep at all last night. I kept having dreams that my water was breaking. In reality, I was sweating quite a bit. I'm only like 34 weeks tomorrow. But I think baby has dropped, my swelling is more intense, and I'm starting to get that crazy pelvic pressure that makes it hard to walk (like you feel baby will just fall out). With Henry, my water broke in the middle of the night (had JUST turned 39 weeks) after I returned to bed from the bathroom. Each time I climbed back in bed last night, I was afraid of the "pop."

I wasn't really worried about early labor before. Well, DH WAS scheduled to go out of the country for a week, leaving yesterday, but that trip was delayed because of work funding. So now I'll be 35 weeks when DH is gone and it's starting to scare me. Also, after the week internationally, he'll be several hours away for another week for his Army duty. IF I even go into labor, my OB will stop anything before 37 weeks. But if my water breaks I wouldn't think there is much she can do.

I'm low risk and have little reason to think things will start early (other than some strong contrax and this being my second baby). I'm pretty hormonal these days and need to share.

((hugs))

I'm sorry about that. I hope baby will keep baking until Ed is back home. Do you have anyone else who can be with you at the birth if he can't make it?

Yes, I have lots of help if I do go into birth without him.

But if he's not here, I just don't think I will have the strength for my natural birth.

Have you thought about contacting a doula in case Ed isn't there? Most doulas participate in a program called "Operation Special Delivery" which is where they waive their fee for military families in the event the husband is deployed or TDY during the delivery. I think having a doula is one of the best gifts you can give yourself during labor and may be something for you to seriously consider if Ed can't be there.

Wow! That is a awesome thing Kate suggested. I no idea it exsisted! I think all moms worry about delivering early, even if they don't have a real reason to think so. I bet Ed will be home and all this worry will be for nothing. Maybe you can have a back up family member be familar with whatever NCB method you're using to support you just in case.
