DH and I were at the leisure centre tonight and when we were in the hot tub I noticed a woman who was (approx) 5-6 month pregnant getting into the hot tub. she stayed in for a good 10 or so minutes even though there is a warning sign right beside the hot tub saying it should not be used by children, pregnant woman, elderly people or people with heart problems. I know it's just a warning and not everyone follows it, but it got me thinking and I wanted to know: would you go in a hot tub while pregnant? or for the btdt moms, did you when you were pregnant?

Personally I don't think I will but I'm curious about others.

I wouldn't, no. Hot tubs raise my body temp so much already when not pregnant, I wouldn't want to risk it. I do, however, plan to keep on eating sushi, just not shellfish.

I avoided the hot tub. My mom has one and I love it and I can't wait to hop back in

I also do take hot showers but I don't think they're too hot.

I was 15 weeks pregnant when I used the hot tub, but I only stayed in for less than 5 minutes as per my midwife. I then just dangled my feet the rest of the time.

Did not and would not.

I take hot showers too but according to nerd Angela they will not raise your body temp to the dangerous level, whereas hot tubs can.

I didn't. I switched from hot to barely warm showers when I was pregnant. It wasn't worth the risk.

I get SO hot so fast to the point where I can barely breathe comfortably...there is no way in heck I would get in while pregnant.

I sit on the edge with feet/calves in or on the top step but never with my hips or higher in. And I make sue if I even feel a little warm I stop and I usually have something cold to drink with me. However I have been in hot-tubs that are cooler than my tubs and stayed in for 5-10 min..but they have to be less than 101 degrees (I usually look for the temp thing! LOL).
I love my hot baths! But its hot when I get in and it start cooling off right away (doesn't maintain heat) so my body temp doesn't go up... so I do those all the time.

I partake in pretty hot baths on a nightly basis, but I probably wouldn't do a hot tub.

Then again, I do do things that many people would never consider doing while preggo: the baths, sushi, moderate amounts of caffeine, seafood, and cold cut meats.

I wouldn't, too hot. I do take hot baths, but baths don't stay hot. I get dizzy in hot tubs when not pregnant anyhow, even though I love them!

I did once when I was pregnant, but just for a few minutes. It was at a work conference and one of the guys that I worked with said, "Breanna, you're going to boil your baby!" Grrr. I was in for less than 5 mins and it wasn't all that hot.

I used to take hot baths too, but I would only fill it up to cover my legs and I wouldn't stay in very long.

nope! Teddy would jump inside me just during a warm bath. Can't imagine the heat of a hot tub!
