We usually eat a heavy lunch so there's really no need for a heavy dinner as well. We usually have more of a snack for dinner.

I know that Americans tend to eat lighter meals at lunch (sandwiches, salads, etc.) whereas we tend to eat "food" (rice, macaroni pie, potatoes, pasta, etc.). Most persons here eat both lunch and dinner (2 full "food" meals) but it just doesn't suit us. I would have a sandwich, oatmeal or something quick and light for dinner.

Amara has lunch at school and also by her grandparents in the evenings so she usually has a snack as well (fruit, cheese & crackers, cereal, etc) in the evenings.
