to put nail polish in the boys easter baskets? They love having their toe nails painted but I only have girly colors and they've been asking for green, blue, yellow, orange, etc. Not colors I would buy for myself.

Right now me and the three kids all have purple toe nails.

I heard of the recent controversy surrounding an ad where a little boy had his toenails painted and I thought it was ridiculous. (I can't remember which ad it was).

It was a.. oh what the heck was it... J. Crew! Little boy had pink nail polish put on by his mom and he was smiling and happy.

Who cares if you ask me! If yellow and green nails make them happy so be it! Lots of guys in my high school used to wear nail polish -- black green or otherwise.

Got a blue and a green for them, they're going to be so excited! I'll try to get a picture of their toes in a bit, gotta find batteries for the camera.

They're so funny about that kind of thing. Lochy has informed me that for his birthday he wants a HotWheels themed party and he wants monster trucks and Baby Alive. lol

To me, at these ages, kids aren't that interested in society's idea of what's for girls and what's for boys. They're all about having fun and innocence is key. Most of the time, it's the adults who stir up trouble with what's supposed to be "acceptable."

The only thing that's ever bugged me was piercing a little boy's ears but I guess that could easily be challenged by why is it fine to do it with a girl and not with a boy. Plus, I have read of tribes and cultures where it's the norm.

I think if they like it and would happy to get it, totally Thankfully, that is something DH and I both agree on already.

Yeah, I don't think they would understand why its ok for me and Lila to have our toenails painted but not for them. Its just some color.
