So, what's your favorite book? I'm looking for reading suggestions because I feel like I just read the book to end all books! Haha! It is weird, but now that I've read this book other books just aren't cutting it, which sucks because I love to read. This has never happened to me! The book to blame is The Lotus Eaters by Tatjana Soli. It wasnt even a book that I would normally read, but it is now my fav. I could gladly get lost in it again, which I can't say about many books.

Anyway, share with me your favorite book! Please! And no spoilers.

Ummmmm...I used to read a ton now I rarely read anything other than children's books. Sorry. Hope you find something to fill the void.

Have you tried googling similar books or put it in amazon and see if it will show similar books or show a lists of other options from person's who had bought that book.

My favorite book is Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides. A close second is I Know This Much is True by Wally Lamb.

I'm putting The Lotus Eaters on my list of books to read!

Mari, I did look at the amazon recommendations, but I have bought so much off of amazon that it is recommending everything from cook books to pregnancy books and everything in between! I think I have confused amazon.

I also tried to see if Tatjana Soli had any other books... nope! Unfortunately this was her first full length novel and I don't see any talk of another coming out any time soon.

Melissa (and anyone else who makes a recommendation) -- what genre do those fall under?

And to answer my own question, The Lotus Eaters is a war book. I had never read a war book and wasn't real interested in Vietnam, but it was shockingly good.

Ooooo nice list Angela! You have some in there that I have definitely heard of but have never read.

I haven't had much success with series reads. I'm talking the kind where there are like 10+ books to the series. They seem rushed to me. I tried the true blood series because I like the show on HBO, but I must say the show is much, much better! And that is pretty unusual! Usually books are better. Maybe that series just has me jaded!

I'm not sure what genre I'd categorize Middlesex and I Know This Much is True. They are they are certainly not light and fluffy. They aren't hard to read though, I couldn't put either of them down. I don't want to say too much because I know you don't want spoilers
