Since we have some new members I thought I'd ask what everyone does for work?
For those ttc will you continue to work after baby or stay at home?
For those who are already sahm what did you do before having kids?

I'm a computer programmer and I supervise a programming team. I would love to be a sahm though. Hopefully that will happen this coming year or, at the very least, by the time we have our second.

I haven't worked since 2008, having a hard time finding a job. I'm trying to get back into school so I have some kind of skill. Hoping to work in the next 1-2yrs.

Before kids I was an assistant manager for Bluenotes, a clothing store. I recently started working at a baby boutique. I just work Saturdays. A little extra money, time for me to get out, and nice bonding time with Daddy for the boys. It's be a great thing so far

I was an executive assistant for several years before becoming a sahm. Now I watch a few toddlers in my home. I'd much rather just be a sahm and not have to watch other peoples kids but it's better than leaving Oliver.

I worked in the accounting office for a Ford dealership. I took care of the titling and licensing of vehicles. I also did half of the account receivables and payables. Before that I was a store manager for a payday loan company.
Right now I'm a SAHM and I love it!

I am a paralegal.
When I had DS, I was working in an animal hospital as a technician. I took 12 weeks leave, 8 of which were bed rest due to pre-term labor. I went back to work when DS was 4 weeks old. Worked out perfectly for me.

I work at a maximum security prison doing clerical work. I will be a SAHM once we have kids and I won't miss that place at all!

I haven't worked outside our house since DH and I got married in 2004. I went to college and graduated with an associates in medical assisting in 2010 but haven't been able to find a job in that field. I'm going to be a SAHM/babysitter until after we have another baby then I will look again for MA jobs.

Wow, what a diverse group of jobs.
I work for the university, planning events. I'm hoping to get into academic advising in the next few years that we will be living here. I will definitely have to continue working if we have a baby. DH is a full time student and his assistantship is not enough money for us to live off of.

I'm a SAHM now but before I did that I was an animal care specialist at my town's humane society. I was mostly in charge of the dogs, daily care and basic training before they were adopted. It was my dream job, honestly, and something I'd love to do again someday when my kid's are older.

I'm a SAHM because my old job would've covered daycare costs and only given me a couple hundred bucks a month - totally not worth it. I used to be an Image Processing Technician at a university health center. I scanned documents in a dark corner and listened to my iPod all day, it was awesome. hahaha. I LOVED the people I worked with and was sad to go, but once I realized how little actual money I'd bring home every month it just wasn't worth all the time I'd lose with my little guy. It was the best decision I EVER made because I love every second I have with him!!

I'm a SAHM and have been since having my first. Well I went back to work when he was only 4 months old but it only lasted a couple weeks, couldn't leave my little man.
Before that I was an Early Intervention Teacher for kids aged birth to three years old with special needs and/or developmental delays. I wouldn't say I didn't like what I was doing but what I got paid was SOOOOO not worth the headache and the being taken advantage of.

I'm a part time registered cardiology nurse. I work night shift, so Teddy doesn't need daycare. Dh watches him at night. The days after i work are really hard though. I typically go 36 or so hours without sleep.

I give you a lot of credit, Resi. I never baby sat as a teen. I RARELY babysat before Teddy, and only for relatives, and usually only because DH volunteered us. Even now i won't babysit other peoples kids, except in special circumstances. My own child makes me crazy enough!
