Hey everyone! My name is Tanya- not sure who remembers me, but I spent a lot of time here when I was WTTC my son Gavin who is now 3, and pretty much havent been back since (life has been so busy!!!) We are now starting TTC for our second. I would really like to sway girl- so here's my question- according to my period tracker on my phone, I'm due to O this month on July 19th- if I were to TTC a girl- which day/days should we BD? Also I'm wondering if we do BD only on say day 5, 4, and/or 3 is that lowering my chances to even get pregnant this month? Do you think we should BD Friday (15th), Saturday (16th), AND Sunday (17th)? Or maybe cut off Sunday bc it would be too close to Tuesday? Lol I get the concept but I just want to make sure my timing is right.... And being if I O on Tuesday (19th), would it make any difference or be ok rather to BD the following weekend? Lol I know by that point, my O should be over and it wouldn't matter really- I just dont want to freak my DH out by getting too specific. It should work out good bc we usually BD on the weekends anyway! I kinda don't want my DH to know I'm going this crazy about the timing to sway gender- he doesn't care either way but I know this is my second and last child and will be really disappointed to never have a girl!! Thanks in advance!

If it were me I would continue through Sunday. But being as how it took us what felt like forever to conceive Charlotte, I would tend to err on the side of caution! If you are really set on girl and don't mind possibly missing the egg, I suppose Saturday would be an okay cutoff day too.

Hi Tanya, it's good to see you. I don't know anything about gender swaying and I wish you the best of luck with it. Since I've not researched it I guess I'm not totally sold on being able to determine the gender based on ovulation but I hope that regardless it works out for you and you'll be excited even if Gavin is blessed with a brother.
And please keep us informed of how it goes. I'm curious about it.

Just wanted to add I didn't intentionally sway for my daughter--realized after the fact we did by looking at that website.
I think Lisa successfully swayed for her little man though!

Thanks for all the replies girls! We did BD Thursday, and plan to today and tomorrow!! I've really been intrigued by the gender swaying thing, but have come to feel whatever will be will be. If I had a little boy I also would be excited for Gavin to have a baby brother. I'll keep you all posted!

There's also a board here on JM that's specifically for TTC a certain gender Might want to check that out too... but I agree, cutting off by Sunday should be good! and dtd the following weekend is no big deal!

HI Tanya! I remember you.
Anyway, I will be doing the same thing when we TTC #2 (in Sept/Oct) to get a girl. I will be 100% happy if we end up with a boy, but I figure what the heck, might as well try for a girl. I'm going to do the whole BD'ing at 3-5 days before O, at least for 3 or so cycles, to try and get a girl... If I don't get pregnant then I might just BD whenever up to O date. I guess we'll see. Otherwise, if I get pregnant I'll be thrilled whether it's a girl or a boy. Yes, I'm trying for a girl, but it doesn't mean I'll be sad if it's a boy. I'm sure you're in the same boat.
