about the subforums in here...do any of you guys actually use them?

It seems a shame to keep them if you don't need them as they count towards the overall limit for the board that's all. If you do use them that's fine.

I don't use them either. I haven't been a grad long enough to get the password to the private area either.

I think that since the grad board is picking up (especially with the influx of grads recently) it would be a good idea to keep them..

Because I got rid of some stickies that old grads were using to view, but just not post in, so now I'm super careful about gets deleted now.

Thanks for that Ashley. I'm certainly not going to do anything hasty. I just wondered. Do you have the password for the grads' private area hun? Because I don't have it either.

If others follow me I just posted my first entry in a journal up there as I'm officially a Grad since AF showed up last night before bed

maybe we can rename the baby bumps Grad Journals or something like that?

with the name "Baby Bumps" i take that as a picture thread because that's what i think of when i see "bumps" just my thoughts :shrug:

A agree with Annie about the name change. Journals can be anything...pics, journals, etc. rather then only "bumps"

And no, I don't have the password. Perhaps we can have it changed? There are no "regular" grads that would be even meeting the requirements for the private board at the moment...

Thanks Justine. I'm in the process in filtering through my old posts there. Since none of the grads that put that subforum together are still here, it should probably be deleted and a new one started. Give us a minute to sort things out though

As far as the belly thread goes, i think it can be changed or added to however it suits the needs of the current members. I would love for the old posts to stay though. I'm quite fond of my belly pics thread, and my DDC deleted the one there.

Hey... about the subforums.

To all of our new (well, current) grads.. Hi! I'm Shannon and I hosted this board for a couple years, but its been a long time since I've been an active member here. I'd love to start an intro now that I'm WTTC again and have been meaning to but I just don't have the time right now to commit to getting to know everyone thoroughly and I don't wanna be t hat annoying person who chimes in every now & again!

Anyway... here's what I suggest as far as subforums: you can have the belly pic one removed if you like, and since those are public posts they won't be deleted, they'll just be merged back into the main grad board posts by date, so they won't flood your current stuff either. This way our original group of grads can go back and look at their threads if they want to search for them. You guys can re-create a new belly pic forum if you find you want one. Or of course you're more than welcome to just continue posting and adding new threads of belly pics

And for the private forum... this is my suggestion. Pick a deadline to have it deleted and I'll be sure all of the original grads are aware that they're about to lose their posts. This way they can go in and copy/paste/save/screenshot/whatever anything they want. Then the subforum will be deleted entirely, since its private, and all of the posts will just flat out be gone. Then you guys can start a new group with whatever requirements you prefer.

If I can make a suggestion though -- start a private group and have it stickied there instead of a private forum. This way you won't have a password to keep up with and you'll know at all times who has access and who doesn't, so no one can give out the password to people who haven't earned it... and also its a lot easier for the hosts to manage.

You can choose whatever requirements you'd like for the private group as well!

I'm not doing anything drastic this week - far too behind with everything and still playing catch-up after my modem disaster earlier this week meaning a few days offline. But will come back to read again and absorb. Of course nothing will get deleted until old members have had chance to check through.
