6/10/08 3:30pm went to dr. office, 1cm dilated 50% effaced Dr. placed catheter in my cervix to dilate me, induction scheduled for following day.
4:00pm contractions started. contracted all night.
6/11/08 3:00am decided to go to hospital, we got checked in and admited. Ron and I walked the halls a little and my mom and Ron took a nap from about 5am-7am.
7:30am My dr. came by and checked me I was 2cm and completely effaced. Staed on pitocin to increase the contractions.
11:30am dr. came back in and checked me again, I was 4cm and Sydnie was very low at plus 1 station, the dr. broke my water.
12:30pm contractions very intense, on pitocin still. I felt lots of pressure so the nurse checked me and I was 5cm dilated.
1:10pm in HARD labor, really wanted to give up and get the epidural at this point but I decided to try the tub instead.
3:00pm after over an hour and a half in the tub I was having horrible contractions and felt grunty like I needed to push, the nurse checked me at that point and found that I had not dilated at all, I was still at 5cm but that the baby had come down even farther and was at plus 2 station! That is why I felt so much intense pressure. I told Ron at that point after in natural labor for almost 24 hours at that point and not having made any change that I needed the epidural.
3:30pm got the epidural, it was like heaven as much as I didn't want to go that rounte it was a life saver and I am SO happy I got it. FINALLY I was able to sleep after being awake for 24 hours.
5:00pm the nurse woke me up and had me turn way on my side, sydnie was not looking well on the monitors and the nurse was anticipating a C-section. Ron suggested giving me a juice box or something because I had not eaten in over about 18 hours. The nurse gave me an IV of sugar water and hooked me up to oxygen. Sydnie started perking up on the monitor and looking much better.
6:30ish pm started feeling shaky and then felt pressure, the nurse checked me and found that I was complete and Sydnie was plus 3 station (otherwise known as almost coming out) she had me do some practice pushes and decided that my pushing was so effective that she would get the dr. there shortly.
7:02pm Sydnie Grace was born!
all together 27 hours of labor, this was by far the hardest and best thing I have ever done in my life. I am SO blessed!
