At 1:50 PM, on June 25th James Tyler was born at 8lbs 12 oz and length of 21.75 in.
Moday June 23 me and my hubby had some final doctors appts to do but we also had another agenda when we went to the obgyn. We wanted to ask if they would induce the pregnancy this week, they had already spoken of inducing on the 38 or 39 week anyway due to my health so they did the test on his lungs on tuesday and the test came out good!! James was ready to come into the world! At about 7pm i checked into the hospital and went to the labor and delivery room where they let me settle in until they were going to begin the induction. We spoke to alot of doctors before they began any inducing, they wanted to be sure we were seen by the anethesiologist, cardiolologist and of course the regular delivering doctors. So me and my hubby just waited, he fell asleep on a chair and i just watched ''What Women Want'' then fell asleep.
230 AM they gave me the meds for the induction and they checked my progress occasionally. Then appx 415 am my water broke!!! I called for the nurse and she checked it then thats when it started moving faster. 630 AM i began contracting and then i had them finally wake my hubby, he was in shock i was contracting. THe docs had expected i would be in labor until sometime that night, but thats not what James wanted. The contractions got hard fast and i was 4 cm by 730am and by about 10am i needed the meds!! I was in such pain!!They moved me to another room, a larger one because we would have more docs coming. It began with 2 constant, one delivery nurse and a cardiologist who was so excited she was asked to help with the baby, she was pleased to not have the day of grouchy old ppl to tend to.The epirdual doctors got there and I was so relieved! So they gave me the epidural, which they kept having to find a better spot so they poked me more than once.. so im contracting and feeling that poke a few times!! I almost wanted to knock out the epi doc!! Then finally they got the sweet spot and almost immediately the contraction pains dulled away so i fell instantly asleep because i was sooo tired, the night before i had gotten a total of about 3 hrs sleep.
I would be checked for my dialating occasionally and about 11AM or so i was 10cm!! The doctors were just amazed it happened so fast!! They began having me push about 1130AM and that was the next couple hours then finally James head began to show... right about now i lost all track of time because i was tired from pushing (i dont know how you guys do it for a longer time...). They pulled in the rest of the team of doctors now, James head was out and i just kept pushing, my hubby sat by me holding my hand and giving me ice chips if i needed them. James shoulders got stuck and all the doctors went into emergency mode (all of this part i am going from what hubby told me because i had no concept of anything happening.. just pushing).James had gotten beyond his shoulders then tried turning sending another panic. All i know is i swear i felt him kicking and moving his feet just inside my ...woman area... he was almost out!! THey just kept telling me push push!! I got so exausted,I had to just keep pushing with no time in between, the delivery nurse began then helping my pushes by pushing on my stomach. I just screamed in pain and exaustion then finally James was out!!At 1:50 pm James was born!! THe docs at my feet,a blonde girl and a dark haired guy began checking me down there, James had torn me a bit so they got to work on that.. after they pulled out all the extra stuff(placenta and such).James was taken and cleaned up and the second i heard him cry i began crying with joy and my hubby just clutched my hand tightly with such a smile on his face,he was so....taken with the moment he had the cardiologist lady take the pics for him. Then the docs bring James over and we get to hold him for a bit and the cardiologist takes pics of us holding him. They took James back away to be taken care of in another room and that was really it. I was so tired then but alsoo incredibly sore, my hubby just continued sitting there,
My hubby says about the time of me delivering as ''you feel like the smallest person in the world, the doctors are running around and your wife is screaming and your just sitting there not able to do anything'' ,though i told him that he was the most important person there for me and him holding my hand was the best i could ask for.
We had in the final moments about 10+ docs in the room, the delivering nurse was Ed and the cardiologist lady was Cecilia, i dont remember any other names but im so glad and happy with all of them. My Sweet Baby James is finally here.We are still awaiting him to be released, im typing this in the Ronald McDonald House and hopefully today (mon june 30) he can come home to be in my arms forever.
