My son Ethan now almost 3 months old and 8lbs 6oz was born on June 16th 2008. He was due July 25th 2008. He was born at 33-34weeks and only weighed 2lbs 5oz. He was the size of a 27 weeker. I was induced due to IUGR inter uterine growth restriction. I was induced on the morning of June 15th (fathers day) and nothing was happening. At 157am I decided to go outside out of frustration of no progress when I got to the basement floor of the hospital and rolled outside in my wheelchair I had 3 hard contractions one after the other I felt a gush and decided along with my best friend and labour coach we should go up strairs and get checked. When I got upstairs I felt another gush. I told the nurse I think my water broke. We went to my room and she began to check me. When she pulled down my panties and looked at the pad all I heard was she is bleeding and lots I need help in here. Many nurses and I think an on call doctor came into my room and immediatly wheeled me to labour and delivery. Upon arrival on the 4th floor the doctor checked my dialation and within 20 minutes I was fully dialated. The doctor told me if He was not out in 10 minutes they would have to do an emegency c section. They began to push my bed out of the room to take me to a room preped for a c section and they had to quickly push me into another room which turned out to be a storage room. Ethan was born in 2 pushes. I had crazy bleeding as the result of an abruption but he was born healthy with no problems. He was just little. He was so healthy that the hospital released him at 3lbs 12oz. He even passed the car seat test even though he was so little in it. Today he is strong and growing well. He meets his milestones and is so happy. Ethan was my 4th baby born but was the scariest delivery.
