SO I totally forgot I never posted my birth story!!
Monday Sept 8th, Summer wasn't her usual self, I didn't take much notice and didn't want to get all worried like I had the last time. By 3pm I had felt her move twice and thought I should call because something wasn't right. They told me to come right in, I told Cam and Mum before I called that if I called there was a chance we wouldn't come back without a baby.
So 3.30 we arrive at the hospital - I had called ahead and they said there was room and to come in, well we get there and they are FULL!! so we sit waiting 45 minutes for a triage bed, eventually they got me a bed, a heartbeat was detected!!!! they kept me on the monitor for over an hour, there were decels in her heartrate, they also did an ultrasound and there were multiple calcification spots, along with a drop in fluid - it was 14 at my last appt and at the hospital it was now at 7.
The Dr wanted to induce ASAP, but as I said they were full, so I needed a transfer to another hospital.
2 hours later the ambulance arrived and I was transported to another hospital.
I arrived around 9ish and admitted immediately, because I was at another hospital I got a midwife! I LOVE her! I am so so so glad they sent me away!!
I was still 3cm dilated, 90% effaced and at station 0.... so there was no change in the last 3 weeks. They would not break my water because the level was already low, so they just gave me pitocin, I was told it would take about an hour to get into my body as it was on the lowest setting, well turns out I didn't need it... 10 minutes later I was having strong regular contractions, at about 11pm I was in alot of pain and stood up and my water broke, this only made the contractions more intense, by midnight they were getting really strong so asked for an epi... well it was a change in shift and 1 1/2 hrs later they FINALLY came, and I was now 6cm.... so I got my EPI and let me tell you its very hard NOT to move when you are having contractions, I jumped twice when she was putting it in... about 20 minutes later the pain was subsiding, and I was very relaxed and went to sleep.
I woke up around 3am and was in excruitating pain, it was on my right groin area (I later found out its called a "hot spot")... I was pushing the button for more epi and it wasn't working, the nurse came in and told me to push it again.... well 4.30 am comes and I am crying from the pain, it was so so bad! they checked me again I was 10cm, and at station -2 time to push!
I only pushed for an hour and at 5.36am Tuesday September 9th Summer Jean was born, she weighed 6lbs 13oz and was 20 inches long.
I am so happy with my birthing experience I would do it all again in an instant. I really feel blessed that I was transferred because the midwife apparently was massaging my whoha and stuff to help get her out.
