Let's start Monday, November 10... I was up pretty much all night with constant pains ranging from 7 to 5 minutes apart. Finally at 8am, I wake DH and told him we needed to go in. We get to the hospital (that's 45minutes away), I get hooked up to the machines/checked and I'm still 4cm. They decide to monitor me for two hours to see if there are any changes. Half way through I began having major pains - to the point that I was crying. The nurse comes in to tell us that I am NOT in active labor (my contractions ranged from 30 to 5 minutes apart - GO FIGURE). So, I tuck my tail and head back home, vowing not to come back until my water breaks. I even told my BIL, they will hear me before they see me because my socks and shoes will be making that squishing noise!!
Get back home, still in pain. I walk, drink water, and beg DH to DTD (which he refused!). Amazingly enough, I was able to get a nap in from about 9pm - 12am. A little after 1am, I heard "pop" and felt water oozing (sorry if TMI). I wake DH and told him that I think my water broke all while running to the bathroom. I get back in the room (five minutes later) and he is fully dressed. I'm still not sure it's my water (and don't want to be embarrassed again) so I told him - let's just wait a little while longer. THAT didn't last long - off we go again at 1:20am.
Get to the hospital around 2am, get checked in, and sure enough it was my water! At that point I call my sister so that she can join us. After being in pain for pretty much two days, I am begging for an epidural. The nurse tells me I can't get it until I have a full bag of fluid! I almost cried, I guess she noticed because she told me she will make it drip fast. Finally, around 330am I get the epidural and things start to slow down - or so I thought. For some reason, I still felt some dull constant pain/pressure that was still uncomfortable. Some how, I start to doze around 4am, only to be woke up around 445 with the doctor and nurses bursting in the room saying - it's time to start pushing, this baby wants out! So, they start getting everything ready and I'm like WTH! After pushing three times, Bryant Lee was born at 5:13 am!
He weighed 7lbs, 15oz and was 20.5 inches long.
The twist to this story is... my baby wanted to be born on November 11, my deceased mom's birthday was October 11 - one month to the day!
Thanks for reading... I hope I didn't ramble too much.
He was circumcised today, so hopefully we will be going home tomorrow. I am having trouble getting my pictures to upload into photoshop, but I will post pictures as soon as I can.
