Ok so here is my story.

I started dialating around 36 weeks and by my 40 week appointment was already 3cm dialated. I don't know how much effaced but she mentioned that I was starting to at some point. We talked about how since he was a big baby she didn't want me to go past another week. Well, I told her I was ready anytime and she said that there was an opening for the next day!

So I went in for the induction on the 4th at 8am. We had to wait a little bit for the room to get ready but by 8:30 we were set up and ready to go.
Since I was already dialated to 3 they just started with the pitocin. Contractions starting picking up but nothing to painful. At about 11 they came in and broke my water. At about noon I was 5cm and decided I was a big wimp and had the epidural. The worst part was the guy trying to figure out where to stick the needle, he kept squezzing my sides and pushing on my back. Ouch!

After the epidural I wasn't feeling any pain and it was great. They put a catheter in which was fine because I had to pee the whole time they were doing the epidural. At some point they came in and said the baby's heartrate was slowing down after each contration so they put me on oxygen and had me lay on my side. Several times I got switched side to side because he kept having issues. I was on the oxygen the whole time.

I think at about 3pm they checked and said that I was around 7cm. At this point the epidural is only doing so much and I am having intense pressure. They checked again around 4:30 and said that we were ready to go. My doctor came in and said that we were going to get ready to push. So at about 5pm I started pushing and he was born at 5:44pm. I had some tearing and had to get some stitches but everything was great.
Evan was 8lbs 12.5oz and had a big head and big shoulders, no wonder it hurt. lol

Everything was great and we got to come home on the 6th and I got to celebrate my birthday on the 7th at home with my little boy.
