I was 37 weeks and I was desperate to go into labour, i had excess fluid and a big baby so i was really uncomfortable so that night i decided to grit my teeth and dtd It ended up being quite painful so we didn't finish and just went to bed. I woke up at 7 am and decided to let DH have a couple of hours extra kip without me tossing and turning so i went downstairs. I went to sit down on the sofa and i felt a pop and loads of fluid, i called up to Andrew and he came running down. I phoned the hospital and they said that even though i was having no pains to come straight in because of the extra fluid, so i phoned my dad and he said he was setting out straight away. We got Paige up and got her dressed and her stuff ready, it was 7.30 am by this time and i suddenly strated having really really bad contractions!! By the time my dad got there 10 minutes later i could barely stand and was in agony, we set out for the hospital and my dad kept telling me not to have him in the car!! Even though i was in agony i kept insisting that it couldn't be happening this fast as i took 18 hours with Paige lol We got to the hospital and i managed to stagger into to the delivery ward, the midwife got me on the bed checked me and said your ready to push NOW!! I couldn't believe it, i didn't even have time to change into my nightie! So i started pushing and he got stuck and his heart rate was going down, the midwife was pressing a button and all these doctors came running in and it was so scarey!! I had 2 midwives holding my legs to my belly, another one pressing on my belly and a doctor trying to dislodge Rhydians shoulder from my pelvis, they finally got him out at 9.05 am but he wasn't breathing, they rushed him over to the oxygen and there was 4 doctors around him so i couldn't even see my baby Finally we heard a cry and i have never been so thankful in my life!!!About 10 minutes later they brought him over to me to nurse while they stitched me up with about a million stitches! It was then that they told me that he was 10 lbs 6 oz and i wouldn't believe them lol
I still can't believe how quick he came and that i had to do it with no pain relief except gas and air After all that Rhydian was fine except for some bad bruising which has now all gone!
