1. Are you using regular shampoo for your LO or a kid's version (2 in 1, etc)

2. For those that have LOs that regularly swim - do you use anything special on their hair?

~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Lily uses regular shampoo and conditioner now
2. Lily swims at least 2x a week and her ends are dying. I had them cut the other month, but they're already way lighter than the rest of her hair. They're turning golden-brown, and the rest of her hair is black/brown I've been coating her hair in conditioner before and after swimming, but it's not helping. She won't wear a swim cap either, so I think I'm just stuck with the discolored ends.
Shelley, have you tried a shampoo for swimmers? I used to use UltraSwim. It strips the chlorine out of your hair. Here is an article that names several other kinds too:
The Best Swimmers Shampoo | LIVESTRONG.COM
Now on to the questions!
1. We're using Aquaphor 2 in 1 body wash/shampoo or Aveeno Baby.
2. We don't swim regularly.
Sarah, I haven't tried a shampoo for swimmers yet, but I might try the Aubrey Organics one from that list. I don't like the chemicals in a lot of them and the reviews for most of the organic ones aren't great because they don't do much for darker hair. I might just have to try a few out though.
1. We use Johnson's Baby Wash, honey apple scent (from Costco) as shampoo, and Nexus conditioner (for adults & also from Costco). I use baby shampoo because it's no tears, and while the conditioner is not no tears (and actually stings a lot if it gets in your eyes) it's a better conditioner than any of the kids' ones I've used.
2. The pools my kids use are treated with salt, not chlorine, so their hair is healthy. Lucy is no longer a blond!
We use some kind of shampo with Dora on the bottle. Jonah had to have it. We also use aveeno baby sometimes. I put organix coconut conditioner in their hair after their baths on swim night; if I don't then they get the frizzies. Jonah has blonde hair though so not sure I would see a color difference. Eves hair has not changed with pool usage but I am wondering if it is treated with salt also. It tastes salty if I get some in my mouth and I never smell that pool smell when we are ther. I thought I was going crazy but I think Lisa just answered my question about why those things are different!
I used Johnson's (honey apple - still use the lotion even for myself part of the time, I love the smell) on Thea for a long time and sometimes Aveeno. But now I use what her Dad and I use. Right now I have some Burt's bees and some Garnier Fructis. I also have some cheap brand 2in1 that I use on her once in a while.
We don't swim often enough to worry about it messing with her hair.
