-1 pkg mozzarella cheese strings (or mozzarella cheese cut into about 1" strips).
-2 tbsp. flour
-2 large egg whites, lightly beaten
-1 cup dry bread crumbs, cracker crumbs, or cornflake crumbs
-salt and pepper to taste
-other spices if desired
-marinara sauce for dipping
-Place cheese in the freezer for approximately an hour before making.
-Preheat oven to 400ºF.
-Place flour, egg whites, and crumbs in three seperate bowls.
-Season flour with salt and pepper, season crumbs with other spices if desired.
-Dip cheese, one at a time, into flour to coat, then into egg whites, then into crumbs. Dip into egg and crumbs again, pressing to help them adhere. Cover completely.
-Place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper or sprayed with cooking spray.
-Bake 10 to 15 minutes, until golden.
