Kary's Twin Pregnancy 3D U/S UPDATE in Post 58!

I will start this from Our third cycle of clomid.. I changed it up since I was taking the Clomid 5-9. So I decided to take the clomid cd3-7. Since that is what the RE would have had me do. So I figured why not give it a shot. So my cycle started on Jan 19-20.. Started spoting on the 19th full flow on 20. I called to set up my u/s to check my follies.. Sat the 30th I went in. I only had one mature follie on my Left. I got a + OPK Sunday. Temp confirmed Ovulation for Monday the first of Feb. On the 10th of Feb we had a huge snow storm.. Dh was home.. when he should of been working.. but we were put in a state of emegency so he had to stay home. I was 10dpo. I had tested that morning on a IC, It looked to be a BFN... But I had worked the night before.. and had been drinking alot water and coffee (I know bad in the 2ww, but it was cold, snowy and I was tired!) So when I got up... I decided.. I would try a FRER before I had to go to work.. fully thinking it would be a BFN. DH had come in from shoveling/snowblowing to get a cup of coffee... when I came out with test in hand... I said "Tom"... He looked at me.. and what I had in my hand.. he got a big smile and said "Here we go again".... Walked over to me and Hugged me.

So this is it.. the first picture..

Well you know you just can't pee on just one...

So the blood work begins... first beta's so at about 12dpo.. HCG 57.2 Progesterone was 68.6, Second set 15dpo HCG 239 Progesterone 90.90, Third set 23 dpo HCG 10,155 Progesterone 75.

The third set made me nervous... The HCG was high, I was afraid it might be more bad news. Even though the progesterone was high.

Kary, I'm so happy you finally started this journal. It makes it much easier to stalk you!

So I have one question, are they identical? They look fraternal to me since they are in separate sacs, but I just want to make sure. Also one other question, I know I only said one, but I just remembered another one: are you finding out the gender?

I'm so so happy for you!!! I can't wait to watch them and you grow!!

Here is what I have learned so far... I have no clue if they are identical or fraternal.. LOL And Yes we will be finding out the Sex. (We are going to need EVERYTHING) if it was just one baby.. I think we would want it to be a surprise..

Monochorionic and Dichorionic Twins

Below is taken from above site

How nonidentical (dizygotic) twins are formed.
Dizygotic twins form when two separate sperms fertilize two separate eggs. Each fetus lies within it's own two membranes (chorion and amnion) and they do not share blood vessels.

How identical (monozygotic) twins are formed.
Monozygotic (identical) twins form when one sperm fertilizes one egg. The fertilized egg then splits later on. Depending on when the fertilized egg splits, you can have either different sacs (dichorinic/diamniotic), the same outer sac and two inner sacs (monochorionic/diamniotic), or they are within the same 2 sacs (monochorionic/monoamniotic).

Split before 3-4 days after fertilization:
When the fertilized egg divides before 3-4 days after fertilizatiion then the twins are dichorionic/diamniotic. That is the membrane configuration as if the twins were dizygotic except that monozygotic twins have the same genetic composition (DNA), while dizygotic twins share only 50% of DNA.

Split beetween 3-8 days after fertilization:
The cells divide at between 3 and 8 days and they are monochorionic/diamniotic.

Split beetween 8-13 days after fertilization:
The cells divide around between 8 and 13 days are are in one sac monochorionic/monoamniotic (dangerous because cords can become tangled).

Split after 13 days after fertilization:
If the division happens after day 13, they are all in the same sacs and conjoined twins happen

Well the first hurdle is cleared, The NT scan!! Both babies measured 1.5! So anything less than 3 lowers the risk of Downs... they did draw blood and scheduled my next scan... then the following one will be 2 hours... GOD HELP MY BLADDER!! Here are some pics.. (I will need to get a baby book just for u/s sound pics!!!

The last u/s pick looks so cute. It looks like tiny people sitting really close (like lovebirds) on a bench in a park somewhere. I know that they are growing and seem healthy. Here is for 28 more healthy weeks for you and your babies A and B.

I am looking forward starting to post a journal here too soon.

So I didn't post these two weeks ago.. since I knew it would 4 weeks before going back...

I went in for my Monthy exam.. I knew I was going to have the pap and cultures done.... But when they put me in the U/S room.. I was like.. OK he is going to take a look.. Since I have only seen his PA since I have been Pregnant... So I walk in the room and they have this HUGE screen on the wall.. (that was not there last week) And the NA said oh we are GOING to start doing 3 4D U/S.... and I was thinking oh how cool!! My Dr's office!! WHOO HOO!! So my OB came in.. and said lets take a look at those babies.. He started with just a plain old U/S.... than he said you are a little early but lets see what we can see.. I thought he was going to look for the sex.. I was just about to say no.. I want to wait until my husband is with me. (I had invited my mom to come with me.. so she was there..) Than all of sudden... up on the screen came the 4D!!!!! OH MY!!! I am so in love!!!! He could only get Baby B... Baby A the Placenta was in the way... So poor Baby A only got a picture of the old U/S.....
