A little of my story.

On May 1, 2006 I found out that the baby I was carrying (due May 14 [MOTHER'S DAY!]) had died. I was induced and delivered Cora Rei on May 2 at 4:07pm, weighing 6lbs10oz, 20in long. She was perfect. She had the cord wrapped around her neck tightly enough to cut off circulation. Other than that, she was just perfect.

I became pregnant again in October 2006, and after a very emotionally stressful pregnancy, delivered Erin Rielle on June 7, 2007 at 8:48am, weighing 6lbs14oz and 19 1/2 in long.

Pregnancy after a loss can be SO SCARY. Even now, after delivering a healthy baby, I'm still scared to be pregnant again in the future sometime, just because I know there's no guarantee.

to all of you who are TTC after a loss, putting your heart on the line in the hope that you'll get to take a baby home.

I'm really sorry you lost Cora.

Congrats on the birth of Erin! Did she look like her sister at all when she was born?

You worded it perfectly... people who try to conceive after a loss are putting their hearts on the line because there is no guarantee....

Yes, I do think they looked alike, although that's strange because when I saw Cora I thought "she looks just like me" and when I saw Erin I thought "she looks just like her daddy."

Yes, I love the name Cora. It was DH's great-grandmother's name. I was SO heartbroken to not be able to use it, kwim? I briefly considered naming her something different and using Cora for another baby, but then I realized that she was Cora and nothing else, and nobody else was Cora.

I'll get her back someday.
