Discount Medical Programs

Hi! I will be joining you guys in here. After almost 3 years of TTC, we will be doing our first (and hopefully last!) IVF soon. While I was pricing up everything (since my insurance doesn't cover IVFs!), I heard about Discount Medical Programs. I won't mention any names of programs, but I was pleasantly surprised to see my Dr does accept this and so we will be saving about 40% on our IVF! I am so excited!

Welcome! I'm Gail. When are you scheduled to start IVF? There are several of us in the Aug/Sept cycle. Even some about to start very soon. Come join us !

Thank you Gail! Forgive me, as I don't know all of the abbreviations yet, but I hope to start sometime this week, at which time we will start on the BC pill. As soon as I know my start date, I will join you guys. I've been lurking for a while, but haven't said much.

The discount drug programs are still steep in price and usually include lower-priced European equivalents, which actually have the aim of fewer eggs than domestic drugs. So there's a tradeoff. Our insurance covered some for us, thankfully, but we decided if we had to do another round, we'd have to get the Lupron and Menopur on the secondary market from someone else who had left-over. Far less than still paying $200/vial for low dose Follistim.

I don't know what you're needing, but I have four vials of 300IU Follistim with the injection pen available that we'd like to get sold before we move.

I don't know about the discount drug programs, as interestingly enough, my insurance covers my meds. The discount that I was refering to is for Medical procedures that your insurance doesn't cover, like IVF. And that membership is free for me because I am a Sam's club member.
