I went to a consultation and initial appointment. Even made my follow-up appts. But I ended up canceling for several reasons. Right after my initial appointment, my accupunturist was going to be out of town for 1.5 weeks and then I was out of town when she returned. So it was a 2.5 week "break" in treatments from the get-go. Then she wanted to see me multiple times a week. I wondered why it was okay to miss treatments and then try and make up for it later? Also, I did the calculations and found where it was going to be pretty costly to be treated up until the retrieval. I decided on regular massages instead.
In the end, we decided we would wait and go thru our first IVF without accupunture and see how it goes!
I am very interested in hearing everyone's experiences, as we havent ruled it out for future, should we need multiple trys at IVF.

Actively ttc #2 with acupuncture & herbs
Hmmmm. I will let you know. My guy said once a week is good enough. He's this doctor who also practices acupuncture. From China. Best kept secret in Manhattan. Cool guy. Very spiritual. Even for the psychology of it, he is worth it for me. He's done me some wonders!
Yes. I will keep you informed. YOU do the same. I am so excited for you. Gosh we are starting this miracle around the same time. This will be so fascinating.
Just popping in here to let you know my experience! We did IVF 3 times. We decided that our 3rd was going to be our last. Too much stress and money to go through everything, I was ready to give up. SO with this being the last time, I wanted to give it my all. So I decided to do acupuncture. I went once a week for 2 weeks prior to my transfer, immediately went there after my transfer and continued once a week. Well, it worked!! I strongly feel that it helped me achieve my BFP! My previous IVF's were exactly the same, no differences in meds, lining, etc. I continued acupuncture once a week until I was 6 weeks pregnant. They wanted me to continue until I was 12 weeks but I became nauseated and couldn't lay there for an hour on my back. Initially we were having twins, but lost one at 9.5 weeks. I often wonder if I had continued acupuncture, if we would still be expecting twins.
Anyhow, I was very skeptical about acupuncture before doing it. But now see that it was all worth it!! Good luck to everyone and I hope that you get your BFP's very soon!
Wow. Kfink, that is very informative. Thank you for sharing your story. Congratulations on your pregnancy. I am sorry to hear of your loss, however. But amazing job with your child, I must say. 14 weeks!
