Can you tell this is my first IVF? I've had lots of questions for you all. My last bcp was on 7/30...5 days ago. I am still taking 10 units lupron. My calendar said that I would probably see AF starting Sunday. Besides being in a really foul mood all weekend, I've seen no other signs of AF.

Does your RE require you have a period before starting follistim and menopur? I will find out more on Friday at my appointment, but I was just curious now.

no i never had to have a period to start meds. i think i had spotting for one day that was it.

ME, TOO! I had spotting for three days. LIGHT. And that is what did it for me. The blood work was the determining factor. Every person's body is different.

On a side note? I am on my 5th day of 10 units of Lupron with my gonal-f shot (the stim shot). My gonal-f was 300 units. By day two, my blood work and sonogram indicated I needed half a dose. So it's 150 units.

It's bizarre. With a smaller dosage I am still groggy at night. It's not too awful. It's an adventure.

So, don't worry about your period. Every single woman is different and your blood work and sonogram will dictate the information.
