I probably should just wait and ask this at tomorrow's appt but I am so anxious. Sorry if I am getting ahead of myself.

Okay so we are supposed to be doing IVF next cycle. I am going to be scheduled for December. I have my nurse consult tomorrow.

I have a couple questions. One is about medications. I think you start them on CD2. We did ttc this cycle though. I don't think I am pregnant but I could be. You never know. I am not really feeling like I am but these meds are pretty expensive from what I understand. I don't know how quickly you need to order them. Can you get the prescriptions filled pretty fast? I would feel better having everything lined up and ready to go but at the same time I would feel like a fool if I ordered a whole ton of medication and then wound up pregnant.

How quickly do you need to get these filled? Do you think I could get a blood test done or something like that to know for sure before I order them? I don't want to wait till the last minute on things but I also don't want to jump the gun and waste a lot of money.

Second question, if you get your embryos frozen, will that cut down the costs considerably if you need a second cycle. I would think that it would but I wasn't sure how much a cycle would cost if you didn't need to do a retrieval and buy meds and stuff.

ok, I'm going to help you out as best as I can from what I have just learned. I started my med on CD 3. We ordered all of our meds from Freedom Pharmacy. Our RE recommands them and they were wonderful. Medication were ordered at 4pm and shipped out overnight at 7pm and I received them the next day at 11am. So less then 24 hours after the order was placed. My meds cost me just over 1800.00. That was with my Blue Care Network picking up half of the cost. Gonal F was $1029 and by far the most expensive.
We signed papers with a company out of Pennsyalvia to store the frozen embryos. They charge $400 per year to store unlimited embryos. They are charging us $215.00 each way if we want them for future use. I hope all my info has helped you. GOOD LUCK!

Sorry I didn't see this until now! We ordered our meds from IVP Care Pharmacy, and they ship overnight. I called them at 3pm one day, and my meds arrived the next day by noon. Very speedy delivery

As far as freezing, a frozen transfer at my clinic runs about $3000, as opposed to a fresh cycle, which is $15,000. We have to pay $200/year to store the frozen embryos, and there was an $800 charge to freeze the embryos in the first place.
