So I started the cetrotide today. I don't think I did it quite right. I mixed everything up but then there was air in the syringe. I thought when I primed it and pushed the plunger the air would come out. But, there was still air in it when the liquid came out. The air was at the end of the syringe and I pushed the plunger all the way in when I did my injection so I think I injected some air in. I think that is okay because it isn't going into a vein but I really want to get this right next time.

I used to know how to do this but I haven't done this in so long that I don't remember and this video didn't say anything about extra air. Maybe there is supposed to be some extra space in the syringe. I don't know. But how do you make sure there isn't any extra air in it?

I always flick it hard so there are no bubbles. Then hold it straight up and down so when you press the syringe the air is first out then the needle is primed

Well that was my plan but when I pressed the syringe liquid came out but there was still air. I think I am going to try to work the air out before I pull the needle out of the vial next time.

i usually get as much air out in the bottle as possible too, then if I get rid of liquid, i can pull more in.
