How long TTC: only a few months because it was for #2 and we already knew I had PCOS and it was just a matter of IUI or IVF. After 3 failed IUI's we just moved straight on.
Diagnosis or any known issues: Just PCOS ( i have a slightly elevated LH)
Treatments you tried before IVF: Everything under the sun. Clomid, IUI's, Injects with IUI's, temping, all diagnostic procedures etc...
How many IVF did you do before success: Just one ( thankfully!!)
Are you using donor eggs or sperm: No
Protocol (meds taken): 75 iu Menopur, 100 follistim, plus a whole concoction of oral pills.
How many follicles at ER: 25+
How many eggs retrieved:25... 20 mature
How many eggs fertilized: 13
How many days between ER and ET: 5
How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: 2 grade 2AA blasts
How many days bed rest: 3-4
Symptoms or issues during 2WW: back aches, emotional, fatigued
What day you got your BFP: 8 DPO or 3 days past a 5 day transfer. It was a squinter until 10 DPO (5 days past 5 day transfer) then it was obvious
HPT before blood test: YES, MANY MANY tests...
Number of first beta: 315.5 (14 DPO) 855 (16 DPO)
Number of babies: 2!!!
Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process: That even though you are healthy and young and produce a lot of eggs you may not end up with that many frozen embies. I was hoping for around 4-5 frozen embryos and only ended up with 2. They are both excellent grades though.

How long TTC: 3 years
Diagnosis or any known issues: Me, none, DH, morphology
Treatments you tried before IVF: Clomid, IUI
How many IVF did you do before success: One
Are you using donor eggs or sperm: No
Protocol (meds taken): Honestly I did not pay attention!
How many follicles at ER: 12
How many eggs retrieved: 6
How many eggs fertilized: 4
How many days between ER and ET: 5
How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: 2
How many days bed rest: 2
Symptoms or issues during 2WW: TMI: I started noticing my pee smelled like cat pee! My sense of smell increased. I could not (and still cannot) sleep through the night. I was very moody (could have been the drugs...but I'm still moody). Five days after the transfer, I got sick at work and threw up. Don't know if that was pregnancy-related or not but imagine so.
What day you got your BFP: I took an HPT the night before my beta test, which was 7 days after the 5 day transfer. My dad was having surgery the next day and I did not want to receive bad news at the hospital. I took two tests and they were positive! I was afraid they might be wrong, but from what I read the only thing that would have made them incorrect was the trigger shot, and my trigger was two weeks past at that point.
HPT before blood test: Yes
Number of first beta: 63 -- for some reason they tested me two days earlier than normal
Number of babies: ???
Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process:
• I purposely did not do a lot of research on IVF before we did it. I did not want to stress out over every detail and I think this helped me.
• I did not eat any pineapple.
• My doctor did not order multiple betas (I've noticed some people have all these beta tests). He says this is unnecessary in terms of stressing you out and in cost...as long as you are not bleeding or having painful cramps, they are not worried.

Sticky dust and good luck to everyone going through IVF! Hope this helps you some.

Age: 25 now...was 24 when we had our successful cycle.
How long TTC: 35 months... 1 month shy of 3 years.
Diagnosis or any known issues: Unexplained infertility
Treatments you tried before IVF: Clomid, IUI and injectibles
How many IVF did you do before success: One Fresh IVF cycle, and our success was on our first FET cycle.
Are you using donor eggs or sperm: Nope
Protocol (meds taken): We did the Lupron protocol... I wish I had it all in front of me, but I dont! Ill try and update later!
How many follicles at ER: 22 for Fresh
How many eggs retrieved: 18 eggs retreived
How many eggs fertilized: 14 fertilized
How many days between ER and ET: Our FET was the equivalent of a 5 day transfer
How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: We transfered 4 embryos. All blasts, Grade AA, A, AB, and C.
How many days bed rest: Day of transfer plus 2 more full days.
Symptoms or issues during 2WW: The day before my beta I had HORRIBLE diarrhea and stomache ache...it was seriously worse than food poisoning! haha TMI I know...sorry.
What day you got your BFP: 7dp5dt was my beta because of the weekend and holiday.
HPT before blood test: I actually held out and didnt take one until after my beta. I was too scared after our first failed IVF.
Number of first beta: 22
Number of babies:1
Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process: It is truly a draining process, but remember its short lived. Try to always stay positive and stay busy... it helps to releive stress and in my opinion less stress was key to our success. We also did acupuncture on the day of transfer before we went in. I feel that helped us a TON!

How many IVF did you do before success: 2 (one fresh Feb 13 - BFN, one FET May 13 - BFP)
Are you using donor eggs or sperm: No
Protocol (meds taken): Fresh cycle - BCP, Menopur, Bravelle, Ganirelix, Lupron trigger, PIO, Estrogen pills. For the FET - BCP, PIO and Estrogen shots
How many follicles at ER: Don't remember the count of follicles
How many eggs retrieved: 27
How many eggs fertilized: 21
How many days between ER and ET: 5
How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: Fresh cycle - 1 transferred, excellent rating. For FET cycle - transferred 2 both grade A excellent
How many days bed rest: 24 hours
Symptoms or issues during 2WW: tender breasts, bloated (both due to the PIO shots and estrogen shots)

HPT before blood test: Yes!
Number of first beta: 819, second beta was 1602, and third was 9,003!
Number of babies: 2
Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process: Wish I would of waited a cycle after the ER to do the ET. I think your body is more relaxed and in a better position to accept an embryo. I think the ER is very hard on your ovaries, especially when you have so many retrieved.

Age: 34

How long TTC: ~ 2 years

Diagnosis or any known issues: male factor and some hormone imbalance

Treatments you tried before IVF: 6 cycles with clomid, 1 IUI

How many IVF did you do before success: 1st was successful

Are you using donor eggs or sperm: no

Protocol (meds taken): BCP, Follistim, Ovidrel, Ganirelix

How many follicles at ER: ?

How many eggs retrieved: 11

How many eggs fertilized: 8

How many days between ER and ET: 3 days

How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: 2 grade "A" embryos and 4 grade "B" frozen

How many days bed rest: .5 I laid low for most of the day after the transfer, but went to a support group that evening. :-)

Symptoms or issues during 2WW: some cramping, some mucous discharge

What day you got your BFP: 10 days past 3 day transfer

HPT before blood test: yes

Number of first beta: 719 (13dpt)

Number of babies: 2!!!

Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process: I'm not sure it would have changed how we did things, but I didn't realize that utilizing ICSI has higher risks associated with it. I wouldn't have done so many rounds of clomid - aka, I would have gone to a different doctor sooner! Getting support from others going through this was really important. Staying positive is really important!

How long TTC: almost 3 years
Diagnosis or any known issues: POA
Treatments you tried before IVF:3 rounds Clomid, 3 rounds Follistim before POA was discovered
How many IVF did you do before success: 1 (with own eggs)
Are you using donor eggs or sperm: donor eggs used for 2nd ivf round
Protocol (meds taken): Progesterone in oil daily, del estrogen every third day
How many follicles at ER: 25
How many eggs retrieved: about 21 (I did a 1:3 shared program with Shady Grove, so I received 7)
How many eggs fertilized: 4 of 5 mature eggs fertilized
How many days between ER and ET: Day 5 transfer
How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: 1 good blast with AB grading, 1 good morula
How many days bed rest: 1
Symptoms or issues during 2WW: light cramping in uterus, light brief spotting (implantation bleeding), sore breasts
What day you got your BFP: HPT 9 days post transfer
HPT before blood test: yes
Number of first beta: 415 at 12 DPT
Number of babies: don't know, I'm not quite 5 weeks along
Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process: I would have saved so much time, money, and stress if I had known about my POA from the start. All they would have had to do was check my AFC, AMH, or FSH from the beginning of treatment. Because of my age it was not something that was checked until almost 7 months of trying- during third round of Follistim. My IVF cycle with my own eggs was a bust. Just 1 of 4 eggs retrieved fertilized and they put it back on Day 2 because it had only divided to 2 cells. It was a total waste of money, but at least I can say I gave it a try with my own eggs. I was a very low responder, so I knew that egg donation would be my only option if I wanted to carry my own baby.

Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process:
I wish I had known that having babies doesn't necessarily make you happy, it brings you moments of unparalleled joy..yes, but it is also hard work. I would do everything all over again to get the two that I have, but I wouldn't do it again to have more. Mind you, I had a a rougher time than most...not everyone will have to deal with the high risk preg, placenta previa, extremely premature twins, GBS abcess in the abdomen, multiple surgeries and a healthy dose of PPD. It was STILL WORTH IT. I love my son and daughter more than I ever imagined. I wish every single one of you success in your journey to motherhood!!

I'm afraid to consider myself a success until I have my pumpkin in my arms but the transfer itself was a success!

Name: Whitney

Age: 36

How long TTC: 13 months

Diagnosis or any known issues: Stage 2/3 endo and borderline PCOS

Treatments you tried before IVF: After 6 months with no luck conceiving, went to RE in April 2013. Had lap surgery in June 2013 then had three unsuccessful rounds of ovulation induction from September through December 2013. Started first IVF protocol in mid-January 2014.

How many IVF did you do before success: So very blessed - worked the first time with a fresh transfer of 1 beautiful 5 day blast!

Are you using donor eggs or sperm: No, DH's sperm is normal although somewhat slow liquification.

Protocol (meds taken): 375iu Gonal F, 20 iu Low Dose hCG, Cetrotide a couple of days before the retrieval.

How many follicles at ER: Didn't get an exact number but was a lot, like 20.

How many eggs retrieved: Therefore I was a little upset that they retrieved 9.

How many eggs fertilized:
But then I was back to psyched because 8 of 9 fertilized with ICSI.

How many days between ER and ET: 5 days

How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: My embryologist does not give grades. However, my doctor confirmed the one we transferred was a very high quality 5 day blast and the picture is beautiful.

How many days bed rest: Stayed home the day of and day after the transfer. Then back to my desk job for two days before resting all weekend.

Symptoms or issues during 2WW: I attributed most of my symptoms to the Prometrium but one I could not attribute to that was a cold that I came down with out of nowhere 4 days post-transfer. This got me excited!

What day you got your BFP: February 4, 2014.

HPT before blood test: Three - one a morning until the day of the blood test.

Number of first beta: Pretty sure it was 278 followed by 683. The nurse thought it may have split but I've got a singleton per my ultrasounds.

Number of babies: 1

Anything else you would have wanted to know before you started this process: It's so shallow but 100% wish I'd known to highlight my roots right before the transfer. I'm rocking some serious roots right now and have 3 weeks to go! It's a dead giveaway for me since I get my hair done like clockwork! Oh well!
