I promise this is the last topic I will start today.

what meds are you ladies taking? Specifically what injections? I was taking 75 IU (x2) of Bravelle and it did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for me. They had originally prescribed me Follistim, but since I am POP they gave me Bravelle since they had free samples.

But since we have taken out a loan on this IVF we are going to roll in for meds, so I can take whichever one I want at this point, I just want to know what to push for when I have my consult and subsequent appointments.

what did you take? what did you have the best reaction to?

I was on the long Lupron protocol. I took 2 units of Lupron twice a day after my BC. After I started my AF, then I went on 300 mg of Gonal F once a day at night. That was it until my trigger shot. It did pretty good for me too. The doctor usually picks your meds based on your b/w and medical history.

Lindsey is right. The doctor will decide which protocol is right for you. I was on a low does hcg and follistim for my stimming.

Follistim and Menopur and it worked fantastically (For me). We grew 10 and matured 7, and 4 of those fertilized. For us, that was huge.

Ganirelix after lead follicle reached 14 mm. It's called the antagonist protocol

Wife was on 10, then 5 of Lupron and stim meds were Follistim and Menopur... worked so well she had to cut her stim meds by half (which means we have a ton left over!) and her retrieval date was moved up a day. She got 40 eggs, 30 mature, 27 fertilized... she is an over achiever!

Her side effects were really mild... moody swings and hot flashes. Remember though, she is not carrying, I am , so she didn't have the compounded estrogen shots and pills and progesterone that I am taking. Those, combined with 15/10 of Lupron gave me really bad side effects... sore breasts, nausea, fatigue, headaches... all the wonders of pregnancy!
