Hi everyone. I posted here a couple months ago before my first IVF. Sadly, it was not successful. DH and I have been TTC for 3.5 years. I had one miscarriage shortly after we began TTC. Last year, we found out we have MFI and also DOR. We did several rounds of IUI's with no luck. Our first IVF in Nov. was not successful. I'm not sure when we can do IVF again due to the high costs and we are completely OOP. I decided to try acupuncture last month and went for my first session. I spoke with my RE nurse and they were positive about it. We figured since we had to wait for another IVF anyway, we might as well try this and see if it helps. After my first treatment we got a call for three foster children. We were approved last year to adopt (it was always in our plan to adopt. We just thought we would have a child first but once we found out about our IF issues, we decided to move the adoption process up). So we accepted the three children and hoped to adopt them. They were 6, 2 and 1. That put an end to acupuncture for the foreseeable future because I just didn't have time. We were excited about the kids but very overwhelmed. Part of us wanted them to stay and part of us felt it was too much. We work different shifts so we were each alone, taking care of all three by ourselves. I also knew we'd have to delay having our own kids if we adopted them as we wouldn't be able to handle 4 small children and I didn't know if I'd be able to delay it because of my DOR. Anyway, the judge ruled Friday that the kids would go live with a family member. We were sad but ok with it. And the family is nice enough to let us visit with them. So now I'm at a point I don't know what to do. We can't afford IVF. I guess back to acupuncture. I'm so unhappy with our adoption agency but we have limited options where we live. I feel like it's all such a mess. All I really want is to be a mommy...

Hi Tiffany. I am so sorry to hear about everything that you have been through. I don't really have any advice to offer other than to say that I really think that acupuncture can be helpful. I did acupuncture for about 6 months before I started IVF treatments and continued it throughout my many months of IVF. I also have DOR and I noticed some positive changes in my cycles after just a few months of treatments. It also just helped me to feel a bit more incontrol of my body and my health. My acupuncturist was convinced that I could get pregnant naturally with acupuncture but I was too impatient to wait it out for too long and started IVF anyway. I really hope that acupuncture works for you. Please keep us updated.

Tiffany my heart breaks for you. I know what it feels like to just want to be a mommy! And your heart is in the right place. You sound very loving and giving. I pray that it will happy soon for you!

Tiffany, my heart goes out to you as well. Where so you live? Would you consider donating some of your eggs? Some clinics offer free IVF (or cheaper IvF) if u are willing to donate half of the eggs they retrieve. My RE has a program like that (new Jersey) .
