Hi everyone. I'm new to this board.

Hubby and I did our first IVF in January. It was so disappointing. Everything was "textbook perfect" but we got a 0 beta on our anniversary

Here is our history: I had two blocked tubes, so my RE recommended moving forward with removal of both tubes and straight to IVF. We took his advice, and in Nov. I had both tubes removed.

We had our first fresh IVF cycle in January 2012 which unfortunately was a BFN. I was on BCP, then Lupron. I stimmed with Menopur and Bravelle. At retrieval we had 6 eggs. 4 fertilized normally. 2 let multiple sperm in : ( Of the four, they all made it to excellent blastocysts. We transferred two "expanding blastocysts" on day 5. There were complications during transfer (cathedar bent, and they had to take it out and reinsert it) I was very anxious, tense, and tight. I think this might have been an issue. Maybe the blasts didn't even make it in? I used Crinone for progestrone support, up until bfn.

After our failed cycle, at our meeting with RE, he suggested we go ahead with our two frozen blasts. They are going to use a different cath this time during transfer, and going to give me a valium. This makes me think that there really was an issue during our fresh transfer.

Why else would a textbook quality cycle just fail? (I know there are lots of other reasons)

So - as soon as AF arrives (any day now), I will start on Vivelle patches. After my lining is nice and thick I will do PIO inj for 5 days, then have transfer. They are doing assisted hatching AND EmbryoGlue.

I have been to acupuncture two times and loved it. It's just SO expensive. I am going to do acu right before my transfer, and right after (if for any other reason, I need it to calm down for transfer! It has really helped me to mellow out also ) The acu recommended 81mg baby Aspirin each day, and my RE agreed. So, for a month now I have been on baby aspirin.

I would love to hear your FET success stories. Thanks ladies!

Welcome! Unfortunately cycles can be textbook perfect and still fail...I'm so sorry that happened to you Hopefully your FET will be a huge success!

I was on a similar protocol for my FET...I did Estrogen injections, then 5 days after I started the PIO injections they transferred 2 blasts. I was told to go home after the transfer and stay in bed (except to use the bathroom) until the next day, and I did. I got my first faint positive on Tuesday (my transfer was on a Friday) and by Wednesday night I had a positive digi. As you can see in my siggy, both embryos stuck and we are expecting twins

Good luck!

I can't see your signy but that is GREAT and gives me a lot of hope, thank you!

I was on bedrest 2 days after my fresh cycle.

I just felt like I did everything right (except retrieval was VERY hard on me, and transfer was VERY uncomfortable I hated it, I was so tense!) I don't know why I was so nervous/scared/tense

I'm not doing estrogen injections, just the patches, but I am doing PIO instead of the suppositories this time.

These are our last two frozen embies. I'm praying they both stick, or even one. This is our last chance. I think that's why I am so nervous. I'm scared to POAS this time also. I am just so scared of a failure!

I am sooo sorry you went through this. The same thing happened to us. Our first fresh IVF cycle was picture perfect, transfered two AA embies and it unfortunately failed. 6 months later we did an FET and transfered 4 blasts ranging between a A, AB, and B. That cycle took and we have a very healthy 13 month old boy from that cycle. The biggest change I made was really just doing everything possible to reduce the stress. I was eating right and getting lots of rest, The day of transfer I did acupuncture an hour before and then I went home and was on bedrest the day and the two full days afterwards. I ate fresh pineapple and sunflower seeds everyday as well.

Oh one last thought...my RE prescribes me valium for the day of transfer to reduce the risk of uterine contractions for the irritation of transfer. Does your RE do anything like that or could you ask him too?

I hope that your FET is a success for you! We are on day 3 of stims for our second fresh cycle and I am praying that this one works!

Come join us on the March/April IVF/FET thread if you would like!

Thanks for the invitation! I would like to join! My RE is prescribing me Valium this time for transfer day, because I was too tense and anxious and it was just bad last time (transfer) ~~~ I really wonder if that had anything to do with it ~ they made "notes" about needing a diff catheder for FET transfer so it had to have been some sort of an issue just not sure if the embies didn't really get "up" in there. Guess we will never know. It's so good to hear success stories! I'm doing everythign I can to reduce stress ~~~ however, it seems like people all around me are trying to add to my stress level ~~~ i'm just trying to ignore everyone like that right now though. I think I will eat pineapple core this time also.
