Kim, spotting is very common in early pregnancy and even MORE common for us IVFers...I had a friend bleed/spot for 6 weeks! (she had quadruplets!) And another bleed for a week and her daughter is perfect! It's very common. I had spotting around 6w with Mallory too.

Your uterus is stretching and implantation can dislodge tissue, all of which can cause perfectly normal spotting. Hang in there...

Thanks Gretchen and Leah! I totally missed like 10 posts, I was on my phone and hadn't refreshed the screen. When my post went up I saw them all.

Leah and Grace- Yay! I hope you both are doing well on those fun shots.

Brooke- Good Luck on Sunday!!!

Jennyt- Sorry about the headaches, I hope they go away.

Aimee- I've been talking to my stomach since transfer...maybe before (while on stims). I even have DH talking to my embies, we tell them "grow babies grow" and he usually adds "but not more than two of you". Don't feel crazy at all! Good Luck!

AFM- I'm trying to stay positive, I couldn't bring myself to tell DH about the spotting. I figure there is no reason to make him have a bad day too. I'm also telling myself that we transferred 3 so maybe that had something to do with it and also that the dream must have meant something. I don't usually have those kind of dreams...at least a night. lol. I have most of the afternoon off so I'm just going to try and relax for the next 3-4 hours before my next kiddo.

I hope everyone is having a good day!

Hello all!

Iam currently on my 1st IVF cycle. I am on lupron andI started follistim 225 iu on March 16th, and my estradiol level was 677.2 on yesterday. My sono showed many small follicles and 5 mature follicles. I've been reduced to 75iu every other day. Im wondering if i will still use the menopur?? I am looking forward to the next steps. I used to be very afraid of needles before this, lol, needless tosay I'm getting better! These posts give me encouragement!

Those who POAS'd or are going to POAS... are you determining to do that from the date of your transfer or the ER?

There's no way I can wait 2 weeks...

Welcome, Hartbaybe, sounds like things are going well, GL!

Taheelbluii- how's the 2ww going?? How many embies did you transfer on the 20th? GL to you!!

Brooke- I tested based on the date of the transfer. From what I've read the earliest BFPs are generally 5-6 days after transfer, but I got a BFN 5dp5dt. Then I tried again 7dp5dt and got my very first EVER BFP... then from there I tested every day for four days and watched the lines get darker. Then my first beta confirmed our BFP. GL to you and I don't blame you, its so hard to wait!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! Its rainy and cold here, so I'm trying to stay busy inside the house...

Hi Ladies! I'm a new first-timer too. Nervous and VERY excited to be starting. So glad there's a group out here going through the same thing. Anyone out there an older Mommy to Be? I'm 43, turning 44 in July.

Here's my protocol as I know it so far:
3/14 - started BC pills
3/25 - Baseline Sonogram scheduled for this Monday!
3/29 - Starting stimming using Cetrotide & Menopur
4/2 - 1st Monitoring Sono with daily monitoring until...
4/8 - HCG trigger
4/10 - ER
4/13-15 - ET
4/24 - First Pregnancy blood test

I wish you all the very best of Baby Dust sprinkling. I hope to see lots of BFPs for all of us!

Cheers,
Tamara

Hey ladies! I know I haven't been around in a while. Things have been really crazy lately, and I'm trying not to focus on fertility stuff. My grandmother fell (for the 5th time in a few months) last week and they thought she had bleeding in her head. They transported her to Georgetown University and everything was fine. They did put in her in a skilled nursing facility for rehab for 20 days since she doesn't have her strength or balance anymore. She's doing great but now my dad and his siblings are in arguments over her care after she leaves the nursing home b/c she can't live by herself anymore. It's been a mess and stressful, but hopefully she will consider an assisted living home.

Sorry I can't respond to everyone's posts... But good luck to everyone wherever you are in your cycles! And good luck to those waiting to test! Looks like a lot of BFPs are coming!

AFM- we had follow up consult on Wednesday and got our protocol for FET. Just waiting for AF to show and start BCP. Then we will have exact dates. It looks like transfer will be early May! Hoping it will be sometime around our anniversary, May 7th. We are going out of town the weekend after so it will be a nice, relaxing week! And if all works out, due date will be around DH birthday! I will stop in once in a while to update you... And i will check everyones posts... But I'm going to be doing things a bit different for this cycle. I don't want to focus on fertility stuff before the transfer. I want to reduce as much stress and expectations as possible. Know that I will be praying for you all and keeping my fingers crossed!

Hartbaybe – welcome!

Tarheel – so how are you passing the time…I’m going crazy! When are you going to test?

JenLynn – how are you feeling? Any major symptoms yet? What is your due date?

Tamara – hi and welcome! I’m an older TTC lady, I’ll be 40 in May. Good luck!

Cassandra – nice to hear from you, sorry your grandmother took a fall, but that’s great everything with her health is good. It such a sad and frustrating thing when family members argue over the care of relatives, I hope everything works out. And yay…for moving forward with an FET, can’t wait to follow you to your BFP!

Brook - good luck tomorrow!!!!

Grace, Gretchen and Leah - how are things with you all?

AFM – I'm going stir crazy, trying to take my mind off of everything, but it's impossible. Other than that nothing new!

TandJ - I am 43 too.

Me: I am just fighting headaches from the Lupron and dreading my next big shot on Monday. DH will be home tomorrow - he has been gone since Tuesday on a golf trip. I think he planned that on purpose so he didn't have to deal with my hormonal melt downs on meds. haha! He is such a smart man - love him! Can't sleep well either from the Lupron. Going to bed later and waking up earlier and restless all night with hot flashes. I hope when I go on Wed they tell me I can stop the Lupron because I am not thrilled with the side effects. I am thinking in about 15-20 days I'll be having the transfer.

Aimee - PIO getting any better?

MeeMee - I read your post and you are about 2 days ahead of me...Keep me posted! I'll be cheering you on as you go for the BFP.

Kayakr - Yay!! Good for you...I know my husband jokes that he's going on a long ski trip when I'm on the drugs. We joke that I usually only have one emotional day a month, otherwise even keeled. I have no idea what they're going to do to me!! :-P Hang in there, it's all for a good cause. If you need to vent, I'm happy to listen!!

Cheers everyone!

Hi ladies...

Welcome to those new ladies here! Sending lots of baby dust & sticky vibes your way!

I'm sorry I can't catch up with everyone... maybe later I'll have time to go back and read each new post, but in the meantime...

AFM: Home from the transfer. Only 3 of my embies survived to day 5 and RE says 2 of the 3 were weak (morula's) and 1 of them was a blastocyst in development. He suggested we put back all 3 because he didn't think they would survive the freeze.

Apparently, in addition to blocked tubes and diminished ovarian reserve, my eggs also suck. He suggested that for our next cycle (if unsuccessful on this one) we think about using donor eggs.

I'm just so bummed!! But, I'm trying to think positively. No negative thoughts here!

Hope everyone else's Sunday is a wonderful one.

Brook I hope there isn't another cycle for you. There have been plenty of BFP with not so good looking embies. Also plenty of BFN with perfect looking embies. So you just stay positive and focus on this cycle. Lets live in the "now" and not in the future as of right now - you are pregnant until proven otherwise.

Did you take any medicine to relax you for your transfer?

Thanks! I had a moment when I got home and just sort of went a little nuts - I know better than to dwell in the future. Right now is what I need to worry about and focus on.

I've been talking to them

And, no, they didn't give me anything to relax for my transfer and apparently I missed the full bladder memo (I had been drinking water all morning and I thought I was full but I guess my definition of full isn't theirs!), so they had to use a catheter to fill my bladder. That was more uncomfortable than the actual transfer, but thankfully they also released my bladder when they were finished.

The actual transfer wasn't painful, just uncomfortable. But I did get to see the RE insert the embryos, which was really cool.

I'm thankful for you guys today, because I needed to be encouraged by women who have been where I've been and had the same fears that I have. So thank you!
