I'm just waiting for a bfp (yeah right) but really waiting for cd3 bloodwork, then we can get this party started!!!!

Gretchen, you should get one more af right after you start lupron. Maybe call the clinic for your protocol?

Jenny, congrats on the date! I'm glad you're procedure went well.

Jenlynn, I think that I will be about a week behind you. I should be starting my stim meds next week, hopefully Monday.

I've been reading everything here, but I don't have a lot going on. I've been doing the Lupron shots since last Wednesday, so 9 days now. Waiting for AF, which I was expecting today but just lots of cramping. I'm going to try to be more active on here. I hope everyone is doing good!

Thanks Leah!! A bfp would be awesome wouldn't it? <<sigh>> if life was only that easy for us!! But - its ok - you've got that beautiful little girl - so you know IVF works!!! What steps will you be taking after your CD3 bloodwork? Is that when you start stimming?

I agree that you should get one before you start/right when you start the Lupron Gretchen. Did you say you aren't on the pill? I am - but, I confirmed, I stop my pill on 3/15, and start 10 units of lupron just before that on 3/13. I should have a period by the 22nd, and I then start the Estrace. I know you said that your cycles are simular to an FET - or so it seemed.

Kim - thanks!! How's the Lupron treating you?

Yay for a date Jenny!!
I should be transferring the week before you, if everything gos according to plan.

It loos like I may be starting a new job on 1st May. The job is a really good opportunity, but I start Lupron on 5 March...with retrieval and transfer planned by end of March.

I'm worried about taking some sick days so soon after starting a new job
My employer knows nothing about our IVF....

Any advice?

onlybygrace - Did you mean your starting your job in March, or in May? You wrote May, and if this is the case - I don't think you should worry about sick days by then. Hopefully you may just need a date here or there to check the pregnancy

If you meant March - I would be up front with your employer right away - becasue obviously - you will need days off/late days for monitoring/retrieval/transfer.

Its still hard for me to talk to my boss about the process - but what I told him was that I'm going to be starting IVF - and that there are alot of unplanned appointments, and I will give him as much advance notice as I possibly can.

Monitoring can be daily at first - but there is no reason you should have to take an entire sick day for that - unless your RE is far away...

I WISH!! I start BCP's after my bloodwork on CD3, then after they process that and if everything is normal, they will call to schedule the long appt, i.e. shots training, mock transfer, procedure info, consent signing, all that good paperwork stuff and "SHOW US THE MONEY!" and then set up the timeline for everything..it's about a 3 hr appt.

Then, at least last time, they had me go off BCP for a week, to get af, then go back on for 3 weeks and then I had started lupron etc....Hoping for a diff protocol this time, as Lupron I think supressed me too much and I want to switch from Femara and Bravelle to something else, Follistim or Gonal F, maybe will give me better results. I know my IVF worked and I'm so thankful for that, but we only had 4 eggs.

I know I've said it before, but I'm worried about my FSH...if that comes back less than 10, I will be one happy girl!

And JennyT, thanks for the "you know IVF works" comment...that made my day....my AF hormones are kicking in and I'm feeling really emotional/sad today....all my tests have been bfn...I have to stop testing!

Only by Grace - Good luck with your Appts and I hope everything can get worked out for your new job! I hope it takes your mind off everything!

J&K - Good luck with the Lupron! I had some headaches on that.

Kayakr - How are you doing??

I am ok. CD3 I received all my meds and I start the Lupron on March 11 or 12th. I went to Acupuncture today. I haven't been there for about 6 months. It was good and relaxing. She will be working on keeping my stress down and nice thick, fluffy lining for me.

It does seem like this is taking forever. We originally wanted to do IVF in Oct but it got pushed to first of the year. So I had in my mind I would be pregnant by now but it is only just starting. I am getting neverous about PIO shots.

Ok ladies. I've been absent for a bit but I could use some insight. I started Gonal F 112.5 and 5 Lupron on 2/9. On 2/21 they increased me to 225 Gonal F. Has anyone stalled out like this and gone on to do a retrieval or is my dr prolonging an inevitable cancellation? This is our 3rd IVF cycle, the first 2 were cancelled. We are moving on to another RE if this cycle is cancelled as well. Thanks for your input!

These are my E2 levels..
2/15 - 272
2/17 - 421(12mm, 11mm and 10mm plus many not measurable)
2/19 - 419 (no change in follicle growth from 2/17)
2/21 - 424 (a 17mm, several 15 and 14mm and many smaller, around 10-11mm) increased GF to 225
2/22 - 429 (no change in follicle growth from 2/21)
2/23 - 700 (a 20mm a 17mm and a 16mm plus many 10-15mm follies)

(also posted this on the Feb IVF post)

Jenny – glad things when well with the hysteroscopy and you got a date.

Leah – Yay….sounds like things are moving forward!! So excited for you!!

J&K – hope you are doing alright on the Lupron.

Onlybygrace – I think Jenny gave you great advice….congratulations on the new job.

Kayakr - this whole process is so frustrating, but probably one of the biggest is the waiting! Glad you started acupuncture to help you relief stress.

Nicholle – thanks! Hope there is a BFP in your near future as well!

Mrs J – looks like you have at least 3 good follies growing, so hopefully your RE won’t cancel, good luck to you!

AFM – DH and I snuck away for a mini vacation so I haven’t been around, sounds like everyone is moving forward, which is great!

I have a question for you….my clinic doesn’t give me a tentative date for transfer, just a week timeframe, I’m suppose to stop the BCP on Feb 28, then wait for AF to show to start the cycle….placing a estrogen patch on…..which has my transfer date sometime the week of the 17th. Well, because I was at first told transfer would be the week of the 24th, I took Friday 22 through the 30 off of work, I’m scheduled to work Monday 18th – 21st, now I can call in sick from work, but it’s very hard on the clinic, a lot of rearranging has to be done and it affects a lot of people when someone calls in, so I’m thinking about taking the BCP a couple of days longer then the clinic wants me to (like 2 days) so I’m more likely to start my cycle a few days later to be at the end of the week of the 17th….does that sound like a bad idea? I really don’t think it would be a big difference, I mean the whole reason the clinic puts me on BCP is to have me on their schedule, so would it be wrong to take them a few days longer to work for my schedule? Appreciate any input!

Ok guys, I'm going to make this short. I wrote a good post three different times and then hit the backspace key on DHs new laptop and wiped everything out. Three times!

only by grace, good luck with the new job! I think Jennyt has good advice.

kayakr, sorry for the setbacks. I hope this cycle goes perfectly for you!

Mrs.J.2011 and MeeMee, All I can really say is good luck! This is my first time at IVF so i'm really still learning a lot about all of this. yikes!

AFM: The Lupron hasn't affected me that much, had a bad nose bleed a couple days after I started but nothing since. I am a little more tired at the end of the day though and left side of my stomach looks like a bruised pin cushion and right doesn't look like its ever been poked. I am CD2 today, with an appointment at my RE tomorrow (2/25). I'll be finding out when I'll start the stims, my RX says 300iu Menopur daily for 9 days. Thats prettty much what the RE and nurse say I'll be doing. Not sure if I will start stims on Monday as originally planned as AF was a couple days later than expected.

Good luck to everyone!

Oh and I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Hi everyone! Glad to see everyone's cycles are moving along!

Gretchen- don't worry about the PIO shots... I'm on those now and it's not as bad as I thought it would be. Just use ice to numb the area for about 2-3 minutes. You won't feel a thing. Is DH doing them for you?

Kim- I was on Menopur and Bravelle for 9 days too. They both started at 75 iu, and each was increased or decreased accordingly. The highest I took was 150 iu. Good luck! Those shots aren't bad either... At least the needle is thin and short compared to the IM shot for the trigger and the PIO.

Mrs J- good luck with your next appt. hope those follies are growing!!!

AFM- I'm still hanging around in the Dec/Jan/Feb thread, as I'm just in the 2WW... It's driving me crazy! I've had a lot of symptoms, and I even had a fluttering feeling in my belly last night. It was a weird feeling! I've been on the PIO shots since retrieval on 2/16, and didn't have any symptoms until a day after my transfer. Hope that's a good sign! Saying a little prayer for everyone tonight!

J and K- yay for being cycle buddies! I am hoping for the very best for you!!

I had my first mid-cycle US on Friday and have-- 18 follies!! 9 on the right and nine on the left! This is a huge deal for me because my left ovary has never done ANYTHING before- I was beginning to think it was a total dud, lol.

On Friday just 3 follies were greater than 10mm. Have another US first thing in the a.m. Estrogen was 563. So continuing dexamethasone and Follistim for now and hoping the little follies have grown enough to begin Ganirelix by tomorrow.

Everyone is in my thoughts and prayers and I am always so happy to read your updates and good news. Wishing everyone well!

Looks like things are really moving along!

I'm on CD10 today. Just waiting for CD20 to start my Lupron shots.

Grethen, I totally hear you about the PIO shots. I read NIGHTMARE stories on the internet about these.
I'm not doing them. I will be demanding the intravaginal progesterone.
