Hi everyone - I am sorry. I can't address everyone. I can't remember all the stuff I've read and who it goes with. lol Am I the only dork that has trouble with that. lol

I am cd6 start lupron cd21 - I am right behind you onlybygrace!
I asked for suppositories only but they told me their current protocol with the PIO works way better and they have had 7 pregnancies all with twins out of the last 10 cycles all on PIO. So I am going to suck it up and use PIO. I like the Ice suggestion and I will be using that.

Nicholle - thank you for all your inspiring words even though you probably don't feel like giving them. I can completely appreciate that. For all that it means - I am proud of you.

Gretchen, I read everyone's and then forget who to comment on too, don't worry!! I just know everyone knows I'm probably not missing them on purpose!!

Amy, I think holding out a few more days to fit your schedule is fine LOL...they won't know AF didn't come the day you stopped the pills anyhow!

Cassandra, good luck holding out, for some reason I thought you were a bit closer...but you are right...too early But can't wait to see 2 beautiful pink lines for you!

Good luck cyclers!!!!

AFM - just a couple days away from CD3 bloodwork....I totally freaked myself out by taking clomid this month (Pathetic last chance effort to get pg) but it backfired, because it can temporarily falsely raise your FSH numbers (some people were saying as high as 40 after one month on clomid!!! (Google is a very bad thing! )...so now I'm all worried about that, which I was already worried about...SHEESH!...but at least my clinic knows I took Clomid, so if FSH is a tad high, they said they won't consider it actually high, or might have me retest in a month....I checked and last IVF cycle 3 years ago it was 6.51. Praying it is still around the same.

Gretchen, yep we are totally cycle buddies!
I have been reading a ton of research articles that suggest that intravaginal progesterone works as well, if not better than PIO shots. The blood work may not register it, but the point is that the progesterone gets directly absorbed where it needs to be.

I was so afraid of ruining my chance if pregnancy by not taking the POI, but I feel better about it now.
Either way, it seems like both routes are very effective progesterone support!

I'm starting to feel so excited...I can't wait to actually start the process now!

Hey guys, I forget too! Sometimes I open two tabs so I can look back easily while I update. Today is not one of those days! I got back from my appointment a couple of hours ago (my RE is 3 hrs away) and am ready to go to bed!

Jenlynn, do you know when you will have ER? I'm guessing you have posted about it and I'm just blind tonight since I'm tired. I'm glad to have a cycle buddy, it will give me something other than me to focus on

I had BW and US today and I started the Menopur today, 300 iu/4 vials. The RE has been telling me that I will have to do IM for like a month and today they changed their mind, so sub q it is! I won't complain about that. I think they felt bad for me or something because I was about the only person there by myself; DH can't come since every appointment ends up taking the entire day. I won't have another appointment until next Tuesday, which will be my last day of stims so hopefully it works. The NP originally told me Friday morning, I asked if it would be possible to come in the afternoon since I get done with work at 11 on Friday and had a 3 hour drive and she just said to wait until Tuesday. I guess the figure since I don't have any documented issues it should work. Makes me slightly nervous there wont be a mid cycle US, but I guess I will just go with it since I'm not the Dr and he's been doing this for a very long time (somewhere close to 20 years I think) and his success rates are fairly high.

I hope everyone is doing great and has had a wonderful day!

Oh I forgot to add... Trigger shot (novarel/hcg) scheduled for Wed (3/6), ER (3/8), ET (3/11). RE typically does 3 day transfer, but told us he will put back 3 embryos if we want him to.

J&K - what a good idea! Two windows! Can't beleive I never thought of that.
Looks like you are moving right along too! Wont be long now.

I think I have to do the PIO and vaginal gel Cronone? I have myself all worked up about the PIO - I need to stop it becuase I am making it worse for myself. I don't think RE will give me Vulium once a day so I can take it before the PIO. lol

The PIO are not that bad. The first one is the worst, because you don't know what to expect, and I HESITATED! That made it go in slower and was harder to do! Also, I'm not sure where I posted it. But I heated up a damp washcloth for 30 seconds (in a ziplock bag) and would lay it on the counter, lay down the syringe, flop the washcloth over it for 15-20 seconds to warm up the PIO, which made it easier to plunger and I didn't get any knots in my bum that way either. Those shots are thick like peanut butter! I saw it on youtube, so you could find a video there too. Best of luck to you!

Cassthomas – good luck when you test!

JenLynn – glad your follies are growing nicely!

Stillwaiting – good luck when you have your bloodwork done. I’m just curious, why are you so focused on your FSH? I mean I know that FSH can give you an indication on ovarian reserve, so of course that’s always good to know, but will your clinic cancel your cycle if it’s too high or change your protocol or something along those lines? I know you’ve probably mentioned in the past, but sorry I can’t remember…how many follicles did you have with your first IVF?
(if I’m sounding derogatory or anything like that, I’m very sorry, because I’m not meaning to, it’s so hard to get the context of your words across on these boards sometimes, and I’m honest curious)

Gretchen – lol…love the valium a day before the PIO, but your right, don’t think RE’s will go for it. Just think about your precious embies settling in for the long haul whenever you think you can’t do a PIO!

J and K – yay for starting stims!!! Keep us updated on how things are going!

AFM – not much going on, I did mention to my supervisor at work that I might have to take some time off for the week of the 17th instead of the following week, so we are going to make some changes now to hopefully make things easier when I do get the date for transfer, but I think I’m still going to take the BCP a day or two longer…I’ll kind of decide each morning

Oh….and I love how we have both the POAS Pusher President and the POAS Intervention Mafia Queen cycling together!

Hi all! I am new here!

We are doing our first IVF cycle and hopefully our ONLY!

We should be doing our egg transfer in April and I am soooo excited!

Started my BCP today and Just got a call from my doc today saying I wont be doing lupron because my FSH is high. So our new protocol will be talked about in our meeting next wednesday when we sign consents and he does his blood work!

Hope everyone is doing well with their IVF!

My number on Sunday rose to 1600 and my follies were great! I did not get cancelled! I actually had my ER about 3 hours ago and it went great! They retrieved 10 oocytes. I'll find out Friday how they are doing, and saturday am if we are having a Saturday or monday transfer!

Ugh, typed up a whole thing and it got eaten!

You are RIGHT! I have no reason to think my FSH is high...no tests have said that, but I'm almost 37 and my 32yo friend has VERY low AMH and is freaking me the heck out about it LOL! The other main reason is that we want to do the shared risk program again at our clinic (3 fresh cycles, 3 frozen txfers for a set price, and if you don't deliver a baby, you get 80% of the cost back minus meds) I felt SO much more relaxed knowing we had numerous tries, I really want to do that program again. It does costs a little more, but it gave me the peace of mind I needed through everything. The main thing is that your FSH has to be below 10 in order to qualify for the program...so that is mostly why I am fixated on FSH.

I only had 4 eggs retrieved last time, 3 fertilized (with ICSI) and 2 transferred on day 3....my last little one didn't make it to freeze. So, I didn't respond very well (but yay, still worked) and now I'm 3 years older, so thinking it might take a try or two, ya know?

Thanks for asking, and I didn't take it the wrong way at all I don't think I mentioned the shared risk reasoning before....

HAHA RE Gretchen and me we're trouble

My update: trigger shot tomorrow night and ER scheduled for 3/2, yay! I have about 16-18 decent follies and I could not be more excited (although trying to be realistic at the same time). One thing that seemed odd to me- my estrogen level went down from 2121 two days ago to 1860 today... is that weird? Embryo transfer is scheduled for 3/7, then beta on 3/18... yikes, I cannot believe how quickly this is moving along!!

Like several others, I am getting really nervous about the upcoming PIO injections- it helps so much to know I am not alone in facing that daunting task.

I am so excited for everyone's progress and look forward to hearing all the wonderful news to come!

J and K- you are just a few days behind me! So exciting!!

Gretchen, don't worry about the PIO shots. I am doing them now and they aren't that bad. Just put ice on your butt for a few minutes before doing the shot (hopefully DH is doing them for you). Lay on the opposite side you are doing, and be sure to switch sides each night, as well as the location. Trust me, I've been doing them since Feb 16 and still have a week to go! After DH finishes the shot, be sure to use gauze (it will bleed just a tad bit) and do a warm massage. I was instructed to use an 18 gauge 1 1/2 inch needle to withdraw the medicine, and use a 22 gauge 1 1/2 inch needle to inject. The 22 gauge is much thinner.... Just don't focus on it too much. Remember to breathe! For both of you to breathe! And tell DH don't pinch the skin, pull it taut (spread it apart). I never feel the needle going in, but it hurts just a bit when the medicine is going in. Nothing that you won't be able to handle, and it's not uncomfortable at all.

Good luck to everyone new and everyone that is starting their stimming cycle! Also good luck to everyone that has an upcoming ER! Such an exciting time for all of you!

AFM - just waiting for my Beta next Wednesday! 7 more days and I haven't tested yet!

NurseKelli – welcome, best of luck to you!

Mrs. J – 10 is an awesome number, can’t wait to hear the fert report!

Leah – Thanks for answering and not taking it the wrong way. I wanted to do a shared risk program also, but I was too old Praying your FSH is nice and low and your make a lot of nice healthy eggies

JenLynnRN – potientially 16 or more is great! Sorry, I don’t know too much about E2 levels, I never received mine for my fresh cycles. But like Leah said, if your RE isn't concerned, I wouldn't be either

Cassthomas – Yay…you are PUPO!!!!! Definitely keep us updated!!!!

Nothing new with me. Just another BCP down and a day closer!

Hi Ladies...i am FREAKING OUT!!!

So I received my calendar today. I’m on the long Lupron protocol, with no BCP.
I feel completely weird about the start dates of the stims. According to this I’ll be starting Gonal F on CD 9…which seems really late for me.

During my injectable IUI cycles, I was often close to ovulating on my own on CD 9!
I know that with the Lupron they will have full control over the cycle, but I really feel that the nurse made a mistake and skipped an entire week. I feel like I should be starting the stims on CD 1 or 2. (13 or 14 March)

Here’s my calendar:

5 March: Lupron (1 vial)
6 March: Lupron (1 vial)
7 March: Lupron (1 vial)
8 March: Lupron (1 vial)
9 March: Lupron (1 vial)
10 March: Lupron (1 vial)
11 March: Lupron (1 vial)
12 March: Lupron (1 vial)
13 March: Lupron (1 vial)
14 March: Lupron (1 vial)
15 March: Lupron (1 vial)
16 March: Lupron (1 vial)
17 March: Lupron (1 vial)
18 March: Lupron (1 vial)
19 March: Lupron (1 vial)
20 March: Lupron (1 vial)
21 March: Lupron (0.5), Baseline Bloods & Ultrasound, Start Stims (Gonal F 250 iu)
22 March: Lupron (0.5), Gonal F 250 iu
23 March: Lupron (0.5), Gonal F 250 iu
24 March: Lupron (0.5), Gonal F 250 iu
25 March: Lupron (0.5), Gonal F 250 iu
26 March: Lupron (0.5), Baseline Bloods & Ultrasound, Gonal F 250 iu
27 March: Lupron (0.5), Gonal F 250 iu
28 March: Lupron (0.5), Baseline Bloods & Ultrasound, Gonal F 250 iu
29 March: Lupron (0.5), Gonal F 250 iu
30 March: Lupron (0.5), Baseline Bloods & Ultrasound, Gonal F 250 iu, POTENTIAL DAY FOR TRIGGER

Egg Retrieval tentatively planned for 2 April.

Of course, the dose, dates etc will be monitored closely and changed as/if needed.

Can anyone please share any thoughts? Suggestions? Concerns?

PS: Sorry this post is so long. I added each day to give a clear visual picture…it helps me see the overview

Okay, I had to look back to see what I did. I was on BCP and Lupron and I stopped BCP's and started my Menopur and Bravelle on CD8 (okay, it was 8 days after I stopped bcp's, but it took a couple days to get af, but you won't be getting af), so I think CD9 for you is just fine. Does that make sense?

Here is what my protocol was..... (THIS WAS 2010 cycle, not my current protocol)

I started Lupron on April 27th
Stop BCP's on May 1st
Baseline U/S and BW on May 6th at 9:15 am (actual CD3)
I start Menopur and Bravelle on May 8th. (CD5)
I start lowering my dose of Lupron at that time to .05.
May 10th and 15th I went in for U/S and B/W
I continued on with just Menopur, I had U/S and B/W on May 17th, I did my trigger shot that night and had my retrieval on May 19th, 11 days after starting stims.

Which that sounds in line with your retrieval date, and the protocol above, of course that may change, but I think that sounds fine.

HTH! Give them a call if you are concerned! And how much lupron is 1 vial? I had one bottle that I just took a little bit out of everyday...from .1 at the beginning to .05 when stimming.

FET #1 BFP 8/2013 - Chemical Pregnancy
IVF #3 - Retrieval Oct 31st, Txferred 2 on 5d - a Blast and Morula - Chemical Pregnancy
IVF #4 - ER scheduled for 4/4/14 retrieved 4 eggs. Txferred 3 embryos 4/7/14!....BFN...NOW WHAT?
