Hi…hopefully, I’ll finally have my FET in March! As of now, not much going on with me. I’m on BCP until my clinic calls to tell me to stop. I was told transfer will be sometime the week of the 24th, so I’m thinking they’ll call the very end of February or the beginning of March.

I wouldn’t be concerned about not taking the BCP, I’ve been reading more and more IVF journeys where BCP was not used. From what I understand, it’s thought that BCP can over suppress so less eggs are produced. I didn’t use BCP with my second cycle, I can’t say if it was successful or not because I haven’t made it to transfer, but I do have frosties from that cycle where I didn’t have any viable embryos from my first cycle.
lots of postive vibes and BFP

Thanks for this info! I'm a bag of nerves at this point, so every little thing is freaking me out!
SO great news that your FET is scheduled soon!
How many forsties do you have? How many are you transferring?
Wishing you all the very best!!!

IVF #1: Starting 5th March 2013 - Praying for my 1st ever BFP!
I just made our first appointment to meet the doctor for March 14th! So I will probably not be on this same timeline as you ladies, but I will be checking in for sure! I wish everyone the best! Good Luck <3
We've been busy the past few days!
We met with the anesthesiologist on Monday who took a recap of all my medical history, and then gave me the option between the general and local anestethic for the egg retrieval.
I was sold on the general the minute she starting describing the local begins with 2 shots in the vagina!!! Ouch!
Today we met with the biologist. She confirmed we'll be doing IMSI, and discussed how we'd be updated about the embyro growth.
She also mentioned that if we reach the 5-6 day blastocycte phase for transfer, then they will only transfer 1, not 2.
I was a bit bummed at that.
The reason she said is that at that late stage their is a high chance of the blastocyte splitting, to give identical twins...but it sounded a bit vague and unclear to me
Anyway, that my lot for now...we still on for a 5th March commencement of lupron!
How you other ladies doing???
I'm terribly nervous, but also excited!

Hi everyone, hope you don't mind if I join. I just started Lupron yesterday (2/13), this is my first IVF cycle. I didn't start with BCPs either, my Dr mentioned it but just briefly and when I wasn't ecstatic to hear that he just said to do the ovulation tests. I'm hoping for ER around March 8.
I will starting Lupron te 21 day of my next cycle. That looks like it will be about March 10th. R&T sometime either last week of March or first week of April. That is like Easter! Also puts us having a Dec/Jan baby! Maybe Christmas day or New years day? How exciting would that be?
Keep us posted on how everyone is feeling on the Lupron. I am curious!
Only by Grace - I wouldn't worry too much about the bcp..I honestly think (like Aimee said) that it can oversupress you. I think that happened to me, I was on BCP and Lupron and I only had 8 follices, but only 4 mature eggs. Super best of luck to you!
Aimee, best of luck to you, when you get that call!
L Marie - I think we'll be cycling together maybe! Can't wait to hear how your first appt goes!
Kayakr - wishing those bcp's weren't so mean to you! won't be long now
Nicholle, are you testing?????? 9dpo in the evening is when I got my BFP!!! Can't wait to find out for you!
Welcome J&K!! Thanks for joining us!!
Good luck on your transfers this weekend girls
As for me, I contacted the clinic and DH is picking up my bcp's from the pharmacy tonight....I got two big boxes in the mail on Saturday with all the scripts for my bloodwork. Last time we went to the clinic, but it's 1 1/2 hrs away, so they said we could do it locally. I thought they'd just send scripts, but they sent the empty vials and styrofoam containers and glass blood jars and FedEx labels and instructions for everything for the lab techs, to draw my blood and then overnight everything back to the clinic. Why wouldn't they just let my clinic process everything too? I thought that was odd, but oh well! It's for my CD3 Bloodwork and all infectious diseases etc.... So just waiting on AF and I can schedule that....and after my bloodwork she told me to start bcp...so I guess this is all starting. It's a little faster than I thought. We still have to figure out something for some funds, but I'm excited. Praying SO hard that my FSH is less than 10. That is the only thing I'm worried about right now.
StillWaiting- I sure hope it goes that fast for us so we can be doing this together! I hope everything works out for you!!! Good Luck! I just received our paper work from the Dr. who did my husband's reversal, and mine from my last annual, and it's now less than a month away. It's getting real! As far as funding, we took out a line of credit on our house, is that something you might be able to do?
L Marie - We took a LOC out last time for IVF and we just refinanced the house in May because we needed new windows in our entire house. So, not too much room to play with there . I'm hoping a chunk of a tax refund will help! I've saved most of it...just need a little bit more and then save or charge the drug money haha! (that sounds bad, but you all know what I mean )
Looks like I belong here. February cancelled and it sounds like I'll be getting ready for FET in early April - tentatively April 3rd. My nurse has to do my schedule, and tell me for sure when everything will be starting.
Leah- we financed our IVF through Fertility Financing. Do a Google search and see if they can help with yours? They send the funds directly to your clinic, and send you vouchers to use for meds at a participating pharmacy. The interest rate wasn't too bad, and they have a number of repayment terms. In fact, their interest rate was lower than a personal loan at our bank. And they take bad credit, good credit, and no credit.
kayakr- glad to see things are finally falling into place with you! Good luck!
Jenny- so sorry to hear about the cancelled FET. Stay positive and know that things always happen for a reason! Good luck!

Jenny, sorry to hear about your cancel. Good luck with the FET!
Has anyone had nose bleeds as a side effect of Lupron? I've only been on for a few days but had a terrible one this morning and I don't normally have them.
Good luck on the financing guys! I'm not any help, I worked a lot away from home for like 9 months to save up for this. I'm paranoid about extra debt, it drives my DH crazy!

wow, thx I will look into that!!!
Jenny, I'm sorry your fet was cancelled. Praying April comes quickly!!
Onlybygrace – Yay, for a start date….March 5th is just around the corner!
Gretchen – I definitely know how frustrated you are….I thought I was having a Jan FET! So funny you mentioned Easter and a Christmas baby. I conceived my DS Easter weekend of 1997….and yep, he’s a Christmas baby….I’m thinking the same for you!
L Marie - Welcome! Hope all goes well at your appointment on the 14th.
J and K – Welcome!
Leah – I’m so glad you are getting closer!!! Good luck with all your labs…hope your FSH is nice and low.
Jenny – Hi….sorry your FET was cancelled, but it’s probably for the best, you want everything perfect for transfer. KUP on your hysteroscopy.
AFM – I get to stop the BCP on Feb 28th, then wait for AF to arrive to start back on the estrogen patches. So transfer is going be to sometime the week of the 17th, earlier then I was first told which I’m happy for, just a little frustrated I have to make more changes to my work schedule.

Hello, all! I am brand new to IVF as well as fertility discussion board participation (although I have browsed discussion threads searching for hope and inspiration). I am desperately seeking to receive and offer support for other ladies going through what I am going through- as all my friends have babies and no problems getting pregnant and hence cannot understand at all how I am feeling.
My husband and I have been married for two years and TTC for the same amount of time. We got married late (I am 31 in a few days and he will be 35 next month) and neither of us have ever had children but we knew we wanted to begin trying right away. We were referred to a RE after eighteen months of unsuccessfully TTC.
Apparently I look great "on paper" and haven't been given any infertility-realted diagnosis. DH, on the other hand, has low sperm count and motility as well as abnormal morphology. We completed two cycles of IUI with Letrozole and Follistim with no luck.
So, now begins our IVF journey. My protocol is Ganirelix. I have taken two weeks of BCP and had my baseline labs and ultrasound on 2/15- which looked good. I begin dexamethasone once daily and Follistim 100 iu's twice daily on 2/19 and continue until 2/22 (happy b-day to me) when I will have my estrogen drawn again as well as another ultrasound.
That's where I'm at in my journey... I posted under the March/April thread because our cycle will carry over to March. Any advice on how to deal with the excruciating wait between appointments would be greatly appreciated. I seem to be the one who is awake late into the night googling statistics and searching for information online while DH sleeps peacefully next to me... I don't think husbands carry near the stress, anxiety, and emotional strain during fertility treatment as we ladies do.
Anyhow, I'm looking forward to visiting with you all and hearing about the IVF experiences of others!
