Hello, I am new to this site, and IVF. My husband had a vasectomy in 2003, we got married in 04, then he had a reversal with ICSI reserve in 2/2011. We TTC naturally for over a year with no success. Met with an RE, and he found that I am healthy, with healthy reproductive organs, while my husband has a stricture which is causing low morphology and motility. IVF with ICSI is our only option. I started the BC on 4/25, had my ART orientation this morning, and will have my first US with mock transfer on 5/13. The Lupron injections will begin on 5/14. Very nervous, stressed, and very excited.... Is anyone on close to this same schedule?

Can I join your group too? I'm new to this form and IVF.

Here is my story. I'm 34 and my husband is 34. I have 2 sons (13 & 9) from a previous marriage. My husband has no biological children, but he is a wonderful father. I had a tubal in 05/03 and a reversal in 5/09, and we have been actively trying to conceive for 4 years. I started seeing a fertility specialist, and he told me that problem was my tubes, and IVF is our best option. I was ready to start IVF with my next cycle, but I ended up conceiving naturally. Sadly, it was an ectopic and ended in an emergency surgery, and I lost my left tube. We are heartbroken but going to start IVF with my next cycle which should be this Tuesday, but because of the ectopic, I'm not sure if my cycle with return to normal. I was given an estimated retrieval date of mid June...assuming my cycle starts next week.

I'm anxiously waiting and have read so much on IVF.....I pray it works the 1st time, but I've had so many disappointments TTC...it's hard to be hopeful. I know the wait is going to be stressful and nerve wrecking. I hope sharing the experience will help me calm down and be more positive.

Good luck to all of you.

Welcome James and Jes! Sorry that you have to be here, but these ladies are so supportive! Jes, sorry about your ectopic. I hope you both get your miracles soon!

I did IVF in Feb... I was on Bravelle and Menopur with Lupron trigger. Unfortunately, that cycle ended up with a BFN. I am now gearing up for a frozen transfer next Thursday.

Good luck to you both and looking forward to following your successes!

Lisa- did your cycle start today??? I hope so, so you can start moving forward!

AFM - Lining check tomorrow morning! Last appt before FET... Exciting, but not looking forward to the daily PIO shots starting tomorrow! Yikes!

So, I had my lining check today... Not exactly what I wanted to hear, but it looks like all is good for now. My lining was nice and thick - 10.4... BUT I still have a cyst on my right ovary. It's still small, but a little bigger than my last appointment. I'm waiting for the nurse to call me with my blood results and I hope they don't decide to cancel my cycle. My insurance considers a cycle when injectibles are started, so if this cycle is canceled, it's still considered an attempt with the insurance... GRRRR...

Anyone else have a cyst prior to doing an FET? The doc said during my last appointment on Apr 30 that it should be fine. I really hope this cycle is not cancelled!

Welcome to Jes and James! Looking forward to sharing our experiences together! This has bee a very helpful site for me, and I hope it offers you girls some support and help as well.
Cassandra, I am so sorry to hear about the cyst :/ I hope this does not mean a cancelation for you! *crossing fingers*!
As for me, AF arrived this morning, I will be going in for bloodwork tomorrow morning, an ultra sound on Monday and a mock transfer on Thursday. I am so excited to start all of this! But I did get some concerning/confusing news. My RE that we have already met with, is no longer working there. So now we will be working with a new RE we have not even met yet....which is ok (I didn't really get a warm and fuzzy feeling from the RE we met with anyway), but the receptionist and the nurse all seemed very disorganized while I was trying to set up these appointments. They said that we might have to do another meet & greet appintment and a consent appointment with new Dr.....which at the price we just paid for the last one, I'm upset, and not only that, the receptionist couldn't get me in until June 19th for that!! Yet I am starting everything tomorrow? This is not an added stress I needed! :/

I would be upset with the clinic too, and I don't think that is one bit fair Have you checked the stats on your clinic? Our insurance requires us to go to what the consider a "clinic of excellence", and they sent us out a whole packet of information of covered clinics. I live near Cincinnati, and we choose the Institute of Reproductive Health. I'm very impressed with the staff, office, and my doctor, and I'm still very nervous and scared. I can't imagine how scary it must be not feeling confident with the clinic. I hope everything works out wonderful for you.

Lisa- yay for AF! But sorry you are dealing with added stress. As Marie said, our ins requires us to use a "center of excellence" too. I hope your clinic gets all your appts straightened out. IVF is so stressful and to add unwanted stress makes it tough. Keep your head up and stay positive! Good luck tomorrow and Monday! the mock is a breeze so dont worry about that. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

AFM- nurse called and everything is good to go! So happy that the cyst will not affect this FET cycle! I'm relieved now! Off to go pick dinner up for the fam... Yummy fried chicken!

Thanks for the support ladies!

Cassandra, I am so happy to hear that!! Yay! BFP for you very soon <3

The ultrasound went very well today, the Dr that I met with to read it is not the one that will be 'inheriting' me as she put it, but she gave me a 'gold star' for my ovaries and follicles! The RE that is taking me on is on vacation this week, and I have been put on a cancelation list for our consent appointment to try to get it done sooner if they can. I made a point today while I was there to have a good face to face time with the nurse and got a lot of questions sorted out. I am feeling a lot better about this now, it still seems unsettling that without prompting from my part things wouldn't be sorted out and explained....but I am trying to keep my head up and stay positive. Sounds like I will be starting BC with my next cycle ( beginning of June) and hoping for a retrieval and transfer somewhere right after the 4th of July. The stats from this clinic are good, I guess I just ended up with a crazy start due to this RE just up and leaving...makes me wonder why she did....

Soapyseltzer - the Caribbean sounds so nice right now! It's the middle of May and we are having night time temps in the upper 30's low 40's when it should be 60-70 at night! Crazy! Glad you are back and looking forward to following you!

Lisa- glad you had a good appt! Sounds like things will start getting better from here. I hope this month goes by fast for you so you can get started on your cycle! Look forward to following you!

AFM- nothing new... Taking PIO shots daily and Estrogen shots every 3 days, so my butt is a little sore! But it's all worth it... :-)

Thanks Kim! Today is the day!

My dad was trying to stress me out this morning by having me drive like 50 miles out of the way to get some epoxy for his pool. Considering I already have to drive 76 miles to the clinic for the FET, plus another 50 out of the way? The pipe that connects to the pool pump busted, which is under concrete, and living in West Virginia, there isn't many pool companies.... so, he called this one place way far away from me. Well, I called the pool company just 10-15 miles from my house and they carry it. Thank goodness! I did not want to drive way out of my way before my FET today! What was he thinking?!?!? Oh well, that's parents for you - I'd do anything to help my parents, but today I need to be stress free!

Sorry for rambling... Now, time to start getting ready... I'll update later on how it went today.

Cass good luck today and hope to hear some good news from you soon. Also, where in WV? I grew up in WV and lived there my whole life until a few years ago.

AFM...I was expecting my cycle Tuesday but was wondering if the ectopic would mess it up...and I guess it did. I don't have any symptoms of it coming anytime soon and wish it would hurry so I can start this IVF journey.

Jes- they live near Hinton, WV... I forget the town name, something like Peterstown. Since Hinton is the main town near them, that is the town they are considered as living in. I love going to visit them- its so beautiful! As a matter of fact, we are going up there next week for an extended weekend for Memorial Day. It takes us about 7-8 hours to get there, but the scenic view is worth it. They have a house on the very top of a mountain, overlooking the Greenbrier River. Absolutely gorgeous!

Anyway, still on our way home from the transfer... Ugh, DC area traffic is the absolute worst! We have to take the beltway (495) and rush hour starts at 2-2:30 around there. The transfer went great! Two healthy embryos- both survived the thaw, and both had 95-100% score on their cells. Keeping my fingers crossed! This is gonna be a long TWW!

Cass...I hope you made it home safe and are resting. My husband had a job offer in DC, and I went up with him to see how I liked the area, and we decided against DC because of the traffic and housing costs.

I'm very familiar with that area. I spent a lot of time in the spring trout fishing all around that area and plenty of summer days Summersville Lake. It is very beautiful there. I especially love the fall of the year when all the leaves change.
