Got all the quotes today...
Without meds our clinic is 10,300 (just one IVF) but with ARC it's 12,700 (? don't have the paper in front of me) that includes a FET and 1 yr storage.
Anyone done the "one cycle plus"?
They said they don't have a prepay penalty?

Thoughts?

I haven't done ARC. My clinic does have a multi-cycle discount, and they also offer a shared risk program which you pay a flat fee and you get six attempts. If you don't bring home a baby from the hospital after 6 tries, you get your money back 100%. But, if you get pregnant and bring home a baby on the first try, you don't get the other 5 attempts. This includes cryopreservation fees and annual storage fees during your cycles. It does not include meds though.

I think my clinic is about the same cost, maybe a but cheaper... I think the cost of FET is about half of a fresh cycle, so the multi-cycle discount seems pretty good and decent to me. I was lucky b/c my ins paid 50% and we financed the rest through Fertility Finance. Sorry I couldn't give personal experience, but hope my thoughts help! Good luck to you!

When are you planning to start IVF?

What does ARC stand for? Do you mean the clinic? We don't have any near us....but we did a shared risk like Cassandra.

Does that include meds?

I am not sure what ARC means either. Mine was not a shared risk just plan old pay and it could work and maybe it doesn't. Not sure if there is a discount on a second try or not...I don't think so. FET are about 4000.00 not including meds.

doh sorry-
http://www.arcfertility.com/

I need to see what happens if you don't have any snowbabies... You just lose the money? You can't do FET without them!

Lucy, that's a good question. Have you tried asking your clinic? I would start there and see if you can get answers. All clinics are different, so what we tell you may differ slightly or majorly from your clinic.

Let us know what you find out! Good luck!

Gretchen- the multi-cycle discount works by paying a flat fee for two cycles. I think with my clinic, Shady Grove Fertity, it's somewhere around 12,000. I don't think it includes meds or cryo. I think it's for two fresh cycles, no matter if you got pregnant ir not. So, your prob looking at around 15-16,000 total with meds and cryo and storage fees. To me, it's better to do the shared risk where you pay 20,000 and get six attempts. That fee includes cryo and storage, but not meds. However, if you get pregnant on the first attempt and brig home a baby, you don't get anymore attempts and you lose the rest of the money.

We didn't do either one b/c our ins pays 50%, but they don't cover it if you do shared risk or multi-cycle. I think it's retarded, but who am I to say???
