My doctor didn't do a mock transfer, but I was so surprised how quick and painless the actual transfer was. There was a little pressure when he cleaned the area out, but I felt noting else. It was easier than a pap for me. Good luck

You beat me Lucy!! YAY I was going to start this thread today haha! Positive VIBES coming your way!

As for the mock transfer. I had an SHG and the mock transfer the same day. Last time with Mallory...except holding your bladder (that sucks!) it was easy, peasy.

However, this time, about an hour and a half after the mock transfer, I had some very uncomfortable cramping (bad af)...I made Mike stop at a gas station so I could overpay for some advil, so I'd def take some an hour or so ahead.

GOOOD LUCK AT YOUR APPT! Can't wait to hear how it goes

AFM, day 3 of Lupron today and I was such a crabbypants last night. Poor Mike

I'm with Jessica, the actual transfer was a piece of cake.

OMGosh I am so excited to have all these experienced gals on here! I am a newbie and am flying by the seat of my pants!! Taking it a little bite at a time so I ca figure out what is going on and why! I have been reading blogs and they help some. Haven;t found like my situation so thats a bummer but I am learning a lot and can't wait to pick all of your brains!

Leah- I'm scared of Lupron bringing out my evil twin! Poor DH!! How long are you on it? How long were the last time?

Mellissa- Ahhhh!! Good luck!! How exciting!!

Lindsey- FX!!!

AFM, we got 19 on my AFC so I think that's pretty good for a 36yo. Not sure what it will mean for my meds yet. I am also trying to figure out my pharmacy.
I have a cyst on each ovary. I was wondering why i was still feeling things on my ovaries while on BCP! I did bloodwork but havent heard back yet.
I take the next couple nights off BCP and then back on them Sunday night.

Lucy - holy cow...I'm jealous of your AFC! WTG! ....Lupron...I did it my first fresh cycle when I got pg with Mallory...I had some tiny headaches...but this time I'm a total B!%$^...I'm SOOO irritated and crabby...mostly at DH .... it surpressed me too much (4 eggs with Mallory) that I luckily wasn't on it this new fresh cycle - and it worked - I got 11 eggies....doesn't sound like you'll have an issue with that many follies on CD3..I start with a .1 shot and then once I go off bcps (Tuesday - after being on lupron a week) I will go down to .05 shots until they tell me to stop - probably another week or two. It's a TINY shot with an insulin needle in the tummy.

Good Luck Lindsey!!

Anyone else here???

AFM - I got my meds in the mail yesterday...my big ole Lovenox shots too , progesterone, two diff antibiotics, estrogen, medrol, valium etc etc etc...I can't believe how much cheaper this cycle is haha!

Someone help me cut out caffeine! NOW!

I think maybe the PCOS diagnosis might be correct because from what i read it's common to have a high AFC. Do you think I will do a long luron protocol because of the AFC number? I keep trying to find something online but I am not putting it in google right I think. I seriously can;t remember what meds I will be on I hope my calendar comes tomorrow!
Leah, I can't help right now! I have been drinking caffeine during this break! I'm a baaaad girl!
I am so excited to even be on this thread with you leah! I am so stalking you!

AFM I had surgery to remove a polyp & D&C Friday and it went really well So I should have a good uterus for transfer LOL!
Do they intubate you when they do ER? Or just sedate you? I know you get an IV and such. How is nausea after and waking up from it?

Sorry all the questions!

Hi Lucy! I also have PCOS and talked to a Dr. at UCSF Infertility Clinic. She was the Dept. Head and into all kinds of research programs. She said her findings are that PCOS gals are actually born with more eggs than most people. I can only think that works in our favor doing IVF! More is better for the numbers game since there is a loss rate as the embryos mature. But quality is even more important. It only takes one healthy embryo!

I just turned 44 and for my 2nd round of egg retrieval we got 20 eggs, 16 fertilized, and 7 fully mature blastocycts to freeze. I was on the Lupron trigger and used Gonal F and Cetrotide for stimming. The second time they reduced the dose because I was pretty responsive and got a little OHSS.

I also found acupuncture to be a big help in regulating my cycle (and any PCOS symptoms) before doing IVF. I've read that it improves the quality of eggs.

For my ER they just gave me general anesthesia, no intubation necessary! And no nausea on my part.

I'm so glad there's lots of great gals on this thread. Lucy, Lindsey and Leah! WooHoo!!

AFM - I can't wait. We have our meeting with the doc tomorrow to discuss timing for FET implant. Looking like end of August/early September, but will know more tomorrow.

Baby Dust to All! -Tamara

sorry - I just checked back on this tread and missed a question for me. Please forgive me. I did have pain with my mock transfer because he couldn't get past my cervix at all. I was only CD6 or something like that and my cervix was closed for business. I went back a week later and it was open and ready to go and the mock transfer went just fine. I am glad yours went good Lucy. RE told me the smoother the transfer is the better success rates!

GOOD LUCK Tamara!!!!!! We'll be close

Lucy...I was just sedated (not intubated) and yes - it was IV sedation..Mike got to watch the retrieval sitting next to me and watching the U/S screen...they said I might be nauseated after, but I wasn't at all. But I don't get nauseated all that much - whenever they say that to me with meds, antibiotics etc..I never am...and no morning sickness for me either really, so maybe I'm just weird. I felt perfectly normal after, except hungry, because you can't eat anything after 10pm or so depending on your retrieval time. You will do great!

While it's true pcos'ers do have more eggies, it is quality over quantity....but I think you will respond great Lucy, because you did get pg with an IUI...you just need this boost to get more and better quality through quality meds and you'll have a winning eggie in that bunch!!

I wanted to share my thoughts on nausea after the retrieval. I have a queasy stomach in general, so I asked for a scopaline (sp?) patch before going under and I also asked for extra anti nausea meds in my IV. No problems whatsoever with this combination.

I haven't started anything yet, but I remember lupron making me super duper crabby. For my FET, my RE let me do a lower dose, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to do that with my fresh cycle.

Cheering us all on! I apologize for not addressing everyone personally, but I am reading and praying for each of you!

Wow thanks ladies! That helps a lot. I am going to ask for the patch again JIC... I tend to get SO sick after surgery. I am excited not to be intubated because my throat is still a bit sore from Friday.

I am hoping for good quality. I have been reading SO many blogs lately... And realized it's so not about how many.

Jennifer- When are you changing your siggy??

Tamara- Are you in the bay area CA?

Gretchen- When is the gender scan?
