LisaU - welcome and good luck! Starting the injections is freaky for everyone but take it step by step and go as slow as you need to. One word of warning, the menopur stings going in (I wished the nurse had warned me about this beforehand). If you ice the area for a minute or so beforehand, it helps with the pain (one time I felt no pain at all). Just push the plunger slowly and you will be fine!

I didn't ice, but was fortunate enough to have a Medical Assistant from my job come over and give me the injection, it stung a little but not enough to bother me. Now just have to wait for DH to get home so that HE can do my injection tonight.

Really the minimum depends on each doctor, son had a minimum of three follicles, some four and then some six. Chances of those numbers making it to the final day drop every day so they don't want you to waste a cycle going to retrieval if you're only going to get three or four. Within a couple of days you may only have one total embryo left if you only get three or four at ER

hi Girls! wow so many new names I love that our group is growing!!! welcome girls <3

sorry I have been absent. my sister was staying with me all week & none of my family knows we're doing IVF. I've been dying to get on here, but my sister has been hogging my laptop & I was afraid she would stumble across my history.

we started our Lupron this morning. 21 more days until ET!!! (I thought this month would never come)

I can't wait to start the journey with you girls

This is also my first IVF, things are going well so far. The headaches have stopped and starting to feel some cramping.Hopefully that means lots of follicle growth!

So out of the 7 follicles only 3 were at the right stage of growth to be useful. We will have a fertility report tomorrow. Hey, 3 is better than none!

Don't you just want to speed up time?!?! It sounds like it's going to be nonstop action on this board soon so that'll help pass the time I'm feeling good so far but just constantly worried that something is going to go wrong. I'll feel better (or worse) today after I get my 2nd beta number and then will feel much better (or worse) after my u/s on 2/20. I am praying praying praying!

So, I caved and took a test this morning to see if anything would show. It was negative. I was/am kinda bummed, I thought it could have worked this time, but it’s just not meant to be right now. I still have one more test left so I will take that on Wednesday morning but I think if something was going on, the positive would have at least been faint like my first fresh cycle on this day, ya know? Maybe the fresh cycles are not for me – maybe frozen is my way to go…We’ll see.

Now I want that letter about any frozen embryos more than ever!!!! Hopefully we get it today. It’s funny what your subconscious can do though, I had a dream some lady at the clinic told me I had to wait until September to try again, I was so angry and then I woke up and was like “what the hell?”

Positive thoughts to all!

And, I am so sorry for not being able to give shout outs individually. I am finding it harder to keep up this time around ;o(

Hi all,
Thought I'd join in and stop lurking. We are doing a fet this month after our failed fresh cycle a few months ago. We are scheduled to transfer on the 26th and will transfer two. Hopefully it will work this time. I'm considering asking to do assisted hatching. Do they automatically do it for frozen cycles? I hear that freezing causes the shell to be tougher which makes it harder to hatch. At least I think I read that somewhere.
