Jacob was happy to show off his "junk" all day long!!

Jacob is learning to pray early (probably to apologize for being an exhibitionist, lol)! Ok, that's just how it looks with his hands folded together in front of his face.

Josiah finally showed off his "junk" after 30 minutes of prodding from all of us (and the u/s tech) to get him to uncross his legs.

Josiah likes to stretch completely out and get comfortable.

MissB- i'm so happy to hear you got some relief. i hope that chiropractor works his magic on you so you can stay pain free! i want to find a donor asap! i called some banks & i didn't have the greatest of luck. i would feel more comfortable with a known donor, but i know that would be more uncomfortable for the donor. my #1 choice for this cycle, politely declined. i was really hoping he would say yes :/. now i just have to brain storm & say my prayers.

Amy- you're tooooo funny! sorry i made you spit your sprite lol. i'm glad Joacob & Josiah are doing great! you must be so relieved to finally have the gender confirmed! i love thrift stores! i'm going to see if there is a baby consignment store here in our area. what a great idea. i'm glad you got some stuff for yourself too. i think pregnant mommies should treat themselves to something nice. i think it's easy to forget about yourself & put all the focus on the baby/babies.
thanks for the sperm advice. it's so hard for me because i'm not only obsessive, but i'm a worrier by nature. the last 3 bank donors we narrowed it down to from last cycle, each had 1 thing that was a deal breaker for me i.e., adult acne, connecting eyebrows, large ears, kyphosis (hunch back). i know it's so superficial, but Hubby or i don't share any of those traits (thank you Jesus). i'm not saying hubby & i are picture perfect (far from), but those things that i listed are hard for me to get over .

Kristi- your son's goat is beautiful! it put a huge smile on my face!!! i hope you're feeling great

i hope all of you mommies are taking it easy!

sending lots of love!

April, I understand your problem. I'm seriously OCD. I think that's why it's so hard for me to let go of household duties. I know they won't get done my way and that drives me insane. I know I shouldn't let it, but it does. So, I get the whole wanting the whole as close to perfect as possible donor. Pray on it! I'm sure the right donor will come along...probably when you're not obsessing over it! (Yeah, I know...impossible to not obsess over!) Still praying hard for you all.

AFM, I babysat my soon to be 1 year old niece last night. She's discovered how to get into things and I'm no longer the fun Aunt Meme who lets her get away with whatever she wants. I wouldn't let her play with the power strip and even moved it out of her reach (and then informed my brother that he needed to child proof his house!). First time, she gave me the puzzled "why did you tell me no?" look. Second time, she puckered up but didn't cry. Third time and when I moved it, she bawled like I'd beaten her senseless! As if that wasn't enough, she wanted to play in the kitty litter and couldn't understand why mean old Aunt Meme wouldn't let her. She wasn't happy with me! Today, I'm taking it easy. Baseball games were canceled. I got DH to do the sweeping. All I'm doing is laundry and fixing lasagna for supper because I'm totally craving it!! Otherwise, it's a do nothing kind of day! Tomorrow, my oldest wants me to go shopping with him to pick out a birthday gift for his girlfriend and then he's taking me out to eat. I can't wait!!!

I originally posted this in the June/July area but I realized most of the gals are going through IVF for the first time. Can you ladies help me with the below?

Any one else become a little moody on the estrogen? I'm fine one minute and the next I'm raging. I also am breaking our with flat zits all over my body. So gross! This is with one patch, I start increasing it significantly on Tuesday. Joy! I can't remember if you girls were taking about this med when you said it was the worst! I'll be fine, I'm just venting (and raging, lol).

Crinone was worse for me than estrogen was but I was moody on it as well. Don't get me started on zits! The stupid hormones during IVF had me broke out constantly and these twins haven't let that stop. It's driving me insane. Hopefully you'll level off soon. I'd hate to have to try to bail you out of jail. IVF has me broke!

hi Honey!

thank you for your continuous prayers & support! it means so much to me!

awww, as for your niece. she'll survive . i'm sure now that she's more active & mobile, she's probably hearing "no" more & more. she'll get used to it . I think it's funny that you said "she bawled like I had beaten her". are you ready for that times 2! you must be sooo excited!
how did your lasagna turn out? that sounds sooo yummy! i'm glad that you let your Hubby sweep the floors & had a quiet day. Im also a control freak, so I understand that its hard for you to delegate, but maybe you can delegate little by little. so when the time comes when you're not that mobile, it won't drive you nuts .

afm-the roof of my mouth was puffy & not feeling great. I still brushed & flossed. I woke up the next day & the swelling moved to the front of my gums along with a dark dark purple bruise. it looks so gross! I have zombie mouth . DH & I hardly ever go out to eat, he took us out to lunch yesterday & I was so embarrassed to open my mouth. I hope it goes away quickly! DH thinks im being too self conscious about it, but I can't help it.

oh- I got my calendar &I start the Lupron on 7/31. they also want me to get tested for cystc fibrosis. I called my PCP but they're clueless. i'm not sure who I should contact for that test

Hi April, We used Counsyl for our gene testing. They will likely want your DH to go through testing too. Because, both parents have to have it in order for your baby to have a 25% chance of having it. They test for 108 gene disorders. I am not sure if it will show if you currently have it or just that you have the gene for it. Check it out, it wasn't that expensive (well relative to the other stuff).

Thanks Amy, good thing my rages are just about stupid things like not finding something or why we didn't buy something at the grocery store. We couldn't bail me out either, we are so broke. LOL

The lasagna was awesome!! Or I assume so since we actually had NO leftovers and the kids were mad because I didn't fix TWO!! My niece is completely rotten...and I wouldn't have it any other way! I'm slowly learning to delegate. I've done nothing today at all and have no plans to. I feel a real heavy type of feeling in my lower abdomen today. I'm sure it's just the weight of the babies and everything but I'm taking no chances.

I agree with your DH. You're probably being too self conscious about it...but that's understandable. YAY for lupron!!! I can't wait for you to join us in the preggo club!!

If it makes you feel better, I'm still having rages. Right now, they're not about stupid things though. They're about idiot family members who continually find ways to annoy both of us about this pregnancy and all of our decisions! So I guess if I get thrown in jail, you can't bail me out either huh? Maybe I can plead temporary insanity due to hormones?? Hopefully you won't have them too much longer.

Ok Mommies I'm freaking out! Took it easy all day long. Sitting here at my son's baseball practice and I've started having what I'm sure are Braxton hicks contractions. I had them from 30 weeks on with my youngest so I'm familiar with them. It's just really caught me off guard to be having them this early (16w5d). I'm trying to keep calm but I'm about to flip out!!!!

I actually didn't do anything at all today. Sat around all day. I've put myself on official light duty. People around here are going to have to step up and I'm letting go of the reins!!!!

I've been in bed all day (except when I had to go to an appointment that took about 30 minutes). I have to get up and go to the funeral home in a little bit and then to my son's baseball games but I'll be sitting the entire time. I'm not doing much of anything right now. I'm still having them off and on. I did call the doctor's office this morning to make DH happy. Waiting on the return call. I just left a message and non emergency calls are returned at the end of the day. After the initial shock of the BH's, I'm ok. I had them with my youngest from 30 weeks on so I'm familiar with what I need to do when they hit and what warning signs to watch for. They just caught me by surprise since I wasn't expecting them quite this early!

Don't you just love all those u/s and watching how they grow?? So glad everything is going well!!!

Kelkl- thanks Honey! I wonder how it works since i'm using a donor this time around. I did a follow up text with one of the donor's I asked. I hope he gets back to me tonight . I don't think he has insurance. I wonder how much that test would cost out of pocket?

Amy! my goodness you must have been terrified. i'm glad DH made you call the dr. i'm sorry you're having them so early! don't those hurt?! I really hope those stay away until week 30 again. I agree with the other girlies on here, try to stay off your feet . I know it'll be hard since you don't like to delegate, but you're carrying precious cargo , its a good reason to stay off of your feet!

Kristi- hi! aww, i'm glad you got to see the babies again, but i'm bummed you didn't get to find out the sex of the other baby. it must be so incredible to see how fast they develop every month! I hope the lil guy/girl is more cooperative next time. do you have a feeling what you think the baby is?

afm- last night I took DH to the ER, he injured his eye by getting a piece of metal in it. this happened 13 years ago right when we 1st started dating. we waited for 4 hours in the waiting room, the another 2 hrs to see a physician's asst. the PA couldn't see the metal in his eye. so she relayed the info to the dr. the dr came in & said we need a CT scan. both hubby & I were like "CT? isn't that way overkill?". the last time 13 yrs ago, they put dye in DH's eye & got a magnet to remove the metal pieces. to me the CT was a bit much. so we were there for 7 hours, they didn't treat us, & they sent us home telling us we need to see an ophthalmologist. all that waiting in the ER for nothing. we went this morning & had to wait all day because we were a walk in. the plus side of it was that the ophthalmologist was super nice, great bedside manner, which goes a long way with me, & he got the metal out of hubby's eye. DH can barely open his eye, but it's sooo much better than yesterday! i hope it heals quickly!

April, they don't really hurt exactly. It's just kind of a tightening pressure. The further along I get the more they will start to hurt although that's still not the right word. I wasn't as scared as he was once I used my brain for 5 seconds. I have dealt with them before. Why I freaked, I don't know. I guess because I hasn't given them a thought at all and then they hit and the first one really caught me off guard. I'm resting a lot more than normal now. The doctor called back. Said there's no cause for alarm unless they're accompanied by bleeding OR if there are 6 or more in an hour's time. For relief, rest, change positions, lay on left side, take a warm bath and stay hydrated (so I've switched to powerade). All the stuff I did last pregnancy for them. He didn't restrict any of my activities but I've opted to do it myself. I'm in NO hurry for those dreaded words "bed rest" so I will do whatever it takes to avoid them.

I'm soooo sorry you had to sit there all that time for nothing to be done!! That's crazy!! Thank goodness the opthamologist got it taken care of. Wishing him a speedy recovery.

How's the search for a donor going?

Oh and I did get out the fetal Doppler this afternoon just to reassure DH. Jacob cooperated nicely. Heart rate of 135. Every time I could get Josiah's he would kick it and move immediately. I had to settle for that being a good sign.

Amy!!! you're such a trooper. even though you were caught off guard, i'm so glad you handled it so well. I think it's great that you're going to start to take it easy! Its better that you take the best care possible, & if that prolongs bed rest, an even bigger bonus!

AFM- there is something that I haven't shared with you girls. I have a very rare progressive disease that affects the brain. I've had 3 strokes, multiple TIA's, & brain bypass surgery. I am the only person in my family that has this conditon, so i'm praying it's not genetic. I haven't shared because back in sept a girl on another board was asking me questions & it felt like an attack. I might have been overly sensitive. but she was asking "why I would endanger myself & increase my chances of another stroke?" she also asked if I would feel guilty passing down this condition to my future kids. honestly it made me so depressed & that's why I haven't completely opened up.

God had really been laying something on my heart, & that was to open up & talk to mom. she came over for lunch & I wasnt planning on talking about ivf with her, but it just happened. she was so understanding & supportive. I couldn't believe it. she was sad & hurt that I didn't come to her sooner. she told me she didn't want me to have kids because of my condition & she worries about my health all the time. she said she supports us no matter what. it was so incredible to hear she was on board with the ivf! she just prays it works the next time because she doesn't want me to go through too many treatments.

I feel like God really blessed me today!

the sperm is my next hurdle to conquer, but all things are possible through prayer!

I hope you girls are doing great!!! XOXO

Ok, April, I got your message sent. I had to have one of the kids get the laptop for me. (See, I'm now being too lazy to even get up and get the laptop! LOL) Will definitely be praying things continue to move forward in this positive direction for you!!! (((hugs)))

AFM, today my youngest turned 14!! We took him, 2 of his friends and my other kids to the Bowling Green Hot Rods baseball game (minor league team). DH was able to get the Pepsi Luxury Suite tickets through his work so I sat in the air conditioning most of the day, although I did spend a little time sitting outside when the breeze was blowing nicely. He had a great day!! We all did, really. As soon as we got home (it was a double header game so we were there for almost 6 hours!), I changed into pj's and hit the bed. DH cooked supper and then we had cake (as if I needed that sugar, lol). Now it's chill out and watch movies time!!

Hope everyone has had a fantastic day!!!

Wow, April. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. We knew you were amazing but with all that you have overcome, you are beyond amazing. I am glad you were able to open up to your mother. I am struggling because I opened up to my mother last cycle and when it didn't work out, she was like, why, what went wrong, what did the doctor say, etc.? I finally told her about the mc and she was so sad for me that I decided this time I would keep quiet about my transfer date because I didn't want to disappoint her again if this doesn't work out, or we don't conceive for a long time. I talk to my mom everyday so its been difficult not discussing how CRAZY this medicine is making me feel or how scared I am of the embryo not dethawing. I truly feel like I am bi-polar these days.

I am so glad you were able to get that heavy burden off your chest. I truly believe that you have to make the decisions that are right for you. You feel strongly of having a kiddo of your own and you should be able to. I am sorry that some people are so darn snotty. People should know to keep their mouths shut if their opinion is controversial.

Again, so glad we are here to share your amazing day. Your donor is right away the corner! XXXOOOO
