April- sorry to weigh in so late... As a diabetic I understand how frustrating it is to deal with ignorance on disease or health issues. It doesn't matter what anyone else believes because you are most educated on your own health and know the risk. Wanting your own children is just human behavior. I explain when I have open minded people around so I understand why you would wait to share your story with us. Nothing will make you appreciate your children like a woman who is told she can't. I can't wait to see you holding your miracle(s)!!!

Going to nap... Very sleepy!!!

Hi Ladies-

I've been checking in on your posts here and there but today is the first time I have some time to check in. First Amy, so glad to hear you are slowing down!! Too scary and too early to start feeling pains! I'm debating getting a doppler but some people say it can also drive you a little crazy.

April, wow you are so amazing! I can't tell you how happy it made me to see you told your mom. For me personally that was a huge weight off my shoulders. She reacted exactly how I thought but at least she knows. I had to remind her to now not tell everyone she knows that we went through it. Of course she already told a few people and said she would speak with them. My mom sometimes has no filter and it's out of love but seriously I don't need the small town where I'm from originally knowing all that! Your so brave April sharing your story on your disease. I think that desire to have children is only natural and you do what you need to do!

Baby, how are you feeling? Second trimester for us!!!!

Kelkl, sorry to hear your mom wasn't as supportive. It becomes a lot of pressure to share updates the more people that know. I think after a few runs, I needed the support though.

I have 2 friends about to start their IVF journey. I'm putting together a little IVF survival package. I was thinking warm socks, brazilian nuts, this hope statue that someone gave me, Gatorade, gauze pads..... any other suggestions? I just remember how scary and overwhelming that first cycle is. I'm also going to go through their box of medicine with them.

Ok so here is my big update. Friday morning woke up to bleeding. Scariest "oh no" feeling ever. TMI: It was red, not bright red but red. I tore my purse apart trying to find the on call number, hands shaking. They had me come in for an ultrasound right away and by that pointed the spotting had really come down. I was a mess crying, and my doctor gave me a big hug and gave DH a big hug. This is why I drive so far to see her!!!! She got me in right away and baby is perfect! Looks like a baby as well. It (though I think boy) has long legs and was flying around. Placenta looked perfect as well. She just said everything looks wonderful sometimes spotting happens. The ultrasound tech said she spotted at the same point as me (12 weeks) and then nothing and with her second child, spotted through the whole pregnancy. They ended up just doing the panoramic genetic test then so I will find out the sex in 10 days!!!!

So many people have told me spotting is completely normal during pregnancy and I know this but it scared the crap out of me and I don't want it to happen again! TMI again: the rest of the day was every once and awhile when I wiped it was very very very light brown and very little. So far today nothing. So hopefully thats the last of it. I of course had recently read all these stories about late miscarriages in the first trimester and I was just so scared.

13 weeks starts on Monday! Wahoo!!!! Sorry for the long post as well!

MissB, yes, it can absolutely drive you crazy...BUT it is also the neatest thing! I don't always pick up their heart beat which is the can drive you crazy part but I can feel AND hear them kick at it and move around so even when I can't check their heart rates, I know that they're doing ok anyway. I'm soooo sorry that you had that scare!!! But I'm glad things still look good for your little peanut and I can't wait to hear whether it's a boy or girl!!!

Here's our funny story of the day and as you all might guess, it involves the youngest son. We have someone coming to paint a mural on the nursery walls Monday so we've been touching up holes or dents in the wall (thanks to the middle and youngest when they shared that room) and I was removing the light switch plate and outlet covers. I got tired of trying to bend over so I asked the youngest to do it. DH got him the small cordless screwdriver (why didn't he get that out when I was the one doing it???) and showed him how to use it. He proceeded to finish that room for us and then decided he liked using it so much that he removed every single other light switch plate and outlet cover he possibly could and then put them back on....and then got mad when the battery needed to be charged! I had to roll my eyes and thank DH for showing him the fun in power tools because now he wants to learn to use the nail gun! Ummm...NO!!! No more than 5 minutes later, DH asked him to fill the small fridge (the one we keep the drinks in) so he walks up to it and touches it and says "feels kinda cool" and asks what he needs to do next. I nearly peed myself laughing. DH stopped dead in his tracks and could do nothing more than shake his head. I'm telling you girls, there's NEVER a dull moment with this child around and we never know what he's going to say or do next!!!!

Sometimes my little ones will cooperate with Mommy listening to their heart beats. Usually they kick it off immediately though. Managed to catch this (if it will link and work)...YouTube

Miss B, I'm so sorry you had a scare!! I would faint if that happened to me at this stage! I know I would. I'm already in disbelief about being pregnant and lately being 13 weeks tomorrow I finally have the courage to announce it, say it out loud, then to have Braxton hicks or bleeding... Oh you ladies are strong!!! I'm starting to get some headaches but nausea is almost completely gone. Minimal cramps. I see the new ob tomorrow and see the babies after 2.5 weeks. I'm so incredibly hopeful! I did a lot of crying in those two weeks coming off the meds but I think that's under control. People at work are awkward. There are no moms or dads in my direct reporting group... They are looking at me like I'm an alien. Lol!!! Thank God that was temporary insanity. Still, I worry all that crying was toxic to the babies. I had no control. I will share our announcements that mailed today... I almost had him say, "we are going to need more kibble!" But my husband called it a knee slapper.

Baby- please don't apologize! thank you so much for the kind words!!! I really appreciate it! thank you also for sharing, I didn't know you were a diabetic. that must be difficult to go through. sending a hug your way.
btw-I LOVED your announcement. it was too cute. I'm a die hard doggie lover, I thought it was adorable.
don't worry about your coworkers, although I do think it would be nice if there was a parent that your worked with. they would be more empathetic to what you're going through. those hormones can really take a toll on you. really, it's nothing to be ashamed of, you couldn't help it. i'm glad to hear the nausea is gone & you're 13 weeks! that's amazing ! congrats Honey!!! hugs!

MissB- congrats on being in your 2nd trimester!!! that's wonderful news .
although, I am so sorry you had to go through your spotting scare. I can't imagine how that must have felt. i'm happy that everything is good & everyone is happy & healthy! you must be so relieved <3.
I can't wait to hear the gender!!!
I was giggling when you said your mom has no filter, I'm in that club too . it was like a weight was lifted when I told mom. I feel like this will bring us closer, but in a way I also feel like it will add more worry & stress to her.
you are too sweet putting together an ivf care package for your friends! I think you have it all covered. the only thing I might add is a small notebook & pen. I wish I had kept a mini journal of my symptoms & questions & answers through our journey. i'm going to do it for our upcoming cycle. although we've been through it before, we've had different experiences each cycle.
I hope you don't have anymore spotting during your pregnancy! sending hugs!

Amy- I was laughing out loud over here. your youngest is too cute! I hope these next two boys are full of personality like your youngest .
so what is the mural going to be? your DH sounds so sweet & supportive! there's no way my DH would put a mural on a nursery wall. he's soooo plain. he likes everything plain, its a snore. so i'm living vicariously through you . are you still doing the cowboy theme?
how have you been feeling lately? I hope all is well with you! hugs!

AFM- nothing new over here. I'm just sperm hunting lol.

sending hugs to all of you Beauties!!!

Good to hear from you, April! I'm doing great. Very few BH's as the week and weekend went on. The mural is a farm scene (we live on a farm). I'm looooving it!! I've been in there while she's doing it! She expects to be done today so check back tonight and I will share a picture of it!!! I'm SUPER EXCITED about how it's turning out!! It fits sooooo perfectly with our life. There's a red barn, a silo, a wagon wheel, rolls of hay, a pond, cows, a tractor (which she made blue since that's the color of all of our tractors and I had her put TN75 on it because that's the favorite tractor around here....DH doesn't know that part yet because he's outside mowing). It's looking awesome!!!!

Sperm hunting...I seriously chuckled when I read that!! Keep us updated on how everything is going!! (((HUGS)))

Ok ladies, here are the nursery photos!!!! One crib will go on this wall under the barn, tree and tractor

Rocking chair and small table will be in this corner

The other crib will be on this wall about under the tractor, cows and pond. The changing table will be under the barn.

Their dresser is going between the windows with the saying above it

Looking into their room from their doorway

Hi Ladies-

Amy LOVE the nursery. You are very talented or hired a very talented person to pain that. I can't wait till it's time to come up with nursery ideas.

Baby,Happy 2nd trimester! Hope you are starting to feel better.

April, any up dates on donor sperm? Thank for the suggestion on the notebook!

Well I have a big update. More spotting and more cramping so had another ultrasound. They found a subchorionic hematoma (SCH) also known as a blood clot. So I am on partial bed rest! I'm so happy to know it's something because everyone kept saying bleeding can happen but I just knew something else was going on. Blood clots can form I guess if the placenta grows too fast or if the embryo might implant and then pull away a bit and cause a bleed. Not sure if my factor V had anything to do with it. So laying around a lot and hoping it bleeds out or the body absorbs it. Dr Google has some scary stats on it of course but I'm feeling pretty good about it. One day at a time

Hugs to you girls!

I hired someone lol. I'm not that talented!!! Can't wait until we get to get it completely set up!!

I've heard of several people on other boards with the sch. All of them have had issues for a few weeks but then it cleared up. Just keep taking it easy and keep us posted!! Saying prayers it heals up quickly!

Amy - how fun! What a great theme and so vibrant! Color is so important. Wish we could afford it... We want a fish under the sea mural because we are divers. We want to have all types of fish but its just a dream. I'll probably find a poster! Lol

MissB, I love findig out the problem because then I can get on with finding the solution! I have faith that everything will work out because I know you're taking care of yourself! It's a big load off just to be in the 2nd trimester and we will continue to protect our babies!

April - I know you weren't trying to be funny but sperm hunting is fun ny! Good luck!

Looked like 1 boy 1 girl!!! Will be 100% sure in next appt but tech said she is 90% sure now... Todd does not want to know. I was told to eat 150 g of protein a day!!! What!!! Lol that's a full time job!

That's what I was told as well, and it was HARD! Smoothies and shakes became my best friend. I bought protein powder (find some with no added sugar or crazy-weird vitamins/supplements) and made lots of fruit smoothies with protein powder. Also the Boost High-Protein shakes were great for on-the-go protein snacks.

Good luck...you can do it!

AMY! your nursery turned out SO stinkin cute!!! she did a great job. i also like that you have everything so preplanned out. that way there'll be less chaos later . you never cease to amaze me. your family is so blessed to have you!

MissB- oh Honey! i'm sorry you're having more bleeding. there was a mommy on the may cycle board that had a SCH. hers resolved itself in a few weeks. i hope you don't have any complications with it. try to take it easy !!!

Baby! oh my goodness, CONGRATS! that's wonderful wonderful news! that's my dream to have twins, 1 of each. i don't know how you're going to keep this news from hubby? i would be shouting in celebration like a crazy lady. are you going to share the genders with anyone else? do you have any names picked out? yay!

afm - i asked another person from my old church through email. he responded & said he needs time to think about it. i'm praying that he'll say yes! there is also a friend of my cousins that i want to ask. my mom called her, but she said she would feel uncomfortable with us asking him. i was hurt & disappointed because i thought she would be more understanding about our struggle. i'm praying a donor will come to us soon, like tomorrow lol.

sending hugs to all of you Beauties! i hope you ALL have a great day <3 XOXO
