Sickness is worth it I guess. US this morning showed 6 follicles at 15cm+, and a couple more smaller they hope will get good sized before retrieval. D5 of shots today, theyre adding Ganirelix to the Gonal-F.

Hello Ladies,

This is my first IVF too. I start estradiol patch tomorrow for 3 weeks with the last 5 days of the patch with progesteron to induce AF. Once it starts, my RE has come up with the flare protocol for me. I am 35 and have low egg reserve.
Has anybody used an estrogen patch + progesterone before the hormone injections? There are so many injections and patches and tablets, i am so overwhelmed.

I am so happy to see all the good news and the support you ladies give each other.

welcome yesengee357! this is such a great place to be. I know I always feel better after being on here. i'm not familiar with the flare protocol. this is my second attempt but to be honest there is still soooo much I have no clue about. good luck on your up coming cycle!

AKR- one thing that my last RE suggested is to combine everything in the menopur bottle so I only had to receive 1 shot

sending positive sticky vibes out!

Yesengee, I just started all this too and thought for sure that all the shots would be so overwhelming... but everyone said you'd get used to it all, it becomes second nature. I didnt have to do that protocol, but I can say it really does become like rhat! Seriously. I got a day planner and it makes life easy. You write down each time of day you take your meds and when to do what and follow it. Cell phone alarms help too. Good luck!

April AFC is antral follicle count - how many egg follicles they see on the U/S on cycle Day 3.

Yessengee, good luck!! I'm going to start the estrogen protocol in March

JRacine, good luck. I took ganirelix in the stomach, so they are having you do it in the thigh? Either way, good luck!!

MissB - yay for transfer...my daughter was an 8 cell day 3 transfer

ARK, good luck! I just mixed the bravelle and menopur together with the Q caps, easy peasy. I had to do 2 shots though, because I would mix like 8 vials...let us know how it goes Don't hesitate, it hurts more

ARK - I did Bravelle (150 IU) and Menopur (225 IU) unlike Leah I was able to get them both in 1 shot. It stung a teeny tiny bit a few times, but other than that NOTHING. My tummy got a little sensitive toward the 8th day of stims, but I am sure it wouldn't have matter what meds I used. I didn't ice or anything. Good Luck :O)

Good Luck everyone!!! blowing baby dust
My chances for success were very slim... I had Gonal F 450IU and Menopur 150IU and my stim was 2 weeks long... but everytime I had to stick myself I thought of the goal and end result and how wonderful it would be so after the first day it came easy...
I read that someone mixed their medication into one? That is great if your RE advises that but mine didn't so I had 2 shots everyday at the same time.
My only advise would be to completely cut out alcohol and caffeine as these are considered contributing factors in failure and MC. I also read somewhere that brussel sprouts are fertility boosters so I gorged on them and cut down on my workouts. I tried to give myself the best possible chance because of my high FSH and I'm 33. I must say it was gut retching to hear that I had a number equal to someone in menopause!
Put yourself in the best position for success and don't comprise coz you've come this far right!!

Gonna kind of jump in here. Haven't had a chance to go back and read where everyone is at so I will say good luck, baby dust and congrats! Does that cover everyone??

We had our consult today from our failed IVF in January. Everything looked great.
She was going to put us on an April cycle. But she double checked when she had me start the bcp and asked if we wanted in on the March cycle. Ummmm YEAH! Isn't that a "duh!" question? So we are changing a few things around this cycle. We are starting at 450 on the menopur (had to increase from 300 to 450 during the last cycle) and instead of ganirelix we are doing Lupron. I'm completely unfamiliar with this one. Advice?? Also we are going to do assisted hatching this time. We start the Lupron this upcoming Saturday. Menopur scheduled to start 2/28 and as of right now, retrieval is 3/13. Excited to be getting back at it!!
