We had our consult today from our failed IVF in January. Everything looked great.
She was going to put us on an April cycle. But she double checked when she had me start the bcp and asked if we wanted in on the March cycle. Ummmm YEAH! Isn't that a "duh!" question? So we are changing a few things around this cycle. We are starting at 450 on the menopur (had to increase from 300 to 450 during the last cycle) and instead of ganirelix we are doing Lupron. I'm completely unfamiliar with this one. Advice?? Also we are going to do assisted hatching this time. We start the Lupron this upcoming Saturday. Menopur scheduled to start 2/28 and as of right now, retrieval is 3/13. Excited to be getting back at it!!

Hi Amy!
I am super glad to see you here again,we were soo close in January!
Wow, wow ,wow--- I am sooooo glad about you! You can already start in this cycle? I am soo happy about you!!!!
When I talked with my RE, he said to me that I need to book an appointment in March and then we will make an our FET schedule..but this appointment is taking place 12 th March.. so that means to me 20 days more to wait :/ :/ this waiting is really killing me ,,especially in my case cause I have no information...my days are empty...
My FET is probably planned in April - so all this makes 3 months... in case if my FET will be scheluded for example 17 April.....
I am holding my fingers and toes for you Amy!!! I hope soo much that this time everything will go great!! I know what you felt!! I was completely heartbroked aswell!
Keep us updated darling , I would love to hear how things are going with you!!
Sending you a lot of babydust!

My chances for success were very slim... I had Gonal F 450IU and Menopur 150IU and my stim was 2 weeks long... but everytime I had to stick myself I thought of the goal and end result and how wonderful it would be so after the first day it came easy...
I read that someone mixed their medication into one? That is great if your RE advises that but mine didn't so I had 2 shots everyday at the same time.
My only advise would be to completely cut out alcohol and caffeine as these are considered contributing factors in failure and MC. I also read somewhere that brussel sprouts are fertility boosters so I gorged on them and cut down on my workouts. I tried to give myself the best possible chance because of my high FSH and I'm 33. I must say it was gut retching to hear that I had a number equal to someone in menopause!
Put yourself in the best position for success and don't comprise coz you've come this far right!!
Goood luck!!! welcome...when was your retrieval???

Menopur and bravelle can be mixed together....they are both in the same vials in powder (actually same manufacturer, ferring) and you have to use diluent to make them into a liquid shot...so they can be mixed together. Gonal F, what you were on, is premixed and so it's not recommended to mix a reconstituted med with a premix....hope that helps!!

Either way...thx for joining us and baby dust to you...

IGNORE THIS.... Looks like we posted at the same time.

Lisa or Stillwaiting how does the mixing go? I am taking them both and one shot is much better than 2. I am using the cap as well. Is it just more concentrated? I'm sorry if I sound slow. I'm a visual learner.

Last cycle we used ganirelix. I did the first one in the thigh. Ended up bruised and hurting. I switched to the stomach and didn't have that problem anymore. Just a little itching for a couple of minutes. I was lucky to avoid side effects other than that.

I preferred the thighs due to all the work I've had on my belly before... so much scar tissue and such and its kinda... oddly shaped. Idk. Either way, the ganirelix didn't hurt so bad this morning. And maybe running a high off the excitement that the US tech said I was ready has kept me from noticing the side effects as much... Dr STILL hasn't called and I am impatient (its been a few hours, I cant even imagine what I will be like in the 2 week wait once I have my transfer )... But I am SO hoping she was right and they tell me I can Trigger tonight!! 3 @ 20+cm in only 7 days?

Yeah I had forgotten about those videos... Fertility medication information including dosages, storage requirements and injection lessons these may help some of you new comers who are just starting the process. Our pharmacy in MA did a series of online video lessons for the medications.

Ok ladies, looking for some advice/opinions. I am a hormonal migraine sufferer. Last cycle I was scared to death about having constant migraines. I was on menopur, estrodial gel and ganirelix. From the time I started the meds until the day AF came, I didn't have a single headache, let alone a migraine. (Needless to say, after everything is all said and done I'm going to have these headaches looked into further to see what can be done since obviously there's a hormonal issue.) Anyway, this time we aren't using ganirelix. We are using Lupron. I start it tomorrow. Anyone used both of these at some point and can tell me what differences to expect (other than more injections)?? Are headaches more common with one than the other? Burning, itching, bruising etc more common with one over the other??

Was Cetrotide an option? That's what I used and didn't have any side effects. Good luck!

Well Lupron and Ganirelix are two different meds for two different purposes but Lupron is known for giving pretty bad headaches
