We're not cycling yet, but I had to have immunology/allergy testing today, which included injecting several different concentrations of PIO. I'm currenty 9DPO, so I'm assuming that this will elongate my LP? Any idea on how long it takes to leave the system?

You just did one day of injections? I'm not sure it will lengthen the LP at all, but if so I wouldn't think it would be much.

Awesome, thanks! I've taken suppositories and oral before (and those always delay AF), but the PIO is new to me. Holy Hell that stuff burns!!!!!!! Just trying to predict when I'll be going for baseline next week, so thanks for the info!

I don't know how fast it leaves, but it's not as strong as you might think. During pregnancy, it's like adding an extra teaspoon of progesterone to a bucket of progesterone. It helps if you need that little teaspoon to boost your LP length, but it's not all that strong

Thanks Lauren! I always thought it was stronger than the suppositories for some reason? The suppositories prevent AF completely for me, so I kind of assumed the PIO would do the same? Learned something new today!

Both are about the same strength, although crinone and other suppositories won't show up on blood tests the same way as PIO will. Neither are as strong as you might think though, and any hormone that is increased should have an impact on your body. One dose of Crinone though wouldn't likely delay your AF by much, if at all, so the same goes here

Gotcha, thanks! Yeah, usually I'm taking the suppositories for 2 weeks, so I would definitely have a bit more in my system.

PIO is the devil Seriously I have a serious hate on for it! LOL! Can you tell as we speak I have two knots on my hips/bum?

I am like you where progesterone delays AF pretty badly. But I got off the PIO last cycle with the m/c and she came sooner (wanna say 3-4 days?) than when I get off the suppositories (5-7 days). I think maybe because it's not... lingering?

Good luck to you!!!!

Progesterone never delayed my AF. Like Lauren said - the RE's like the PIO becuase they can track your levels via bloodwork so they can adjust it accordingly. The others are harder to see in your bloodstream.
