Leah - That's what our RE is suggesting as well, is likely 3 on day 3 or 1 or 2 on day 5 (depending on if we get any to freeze). I don't anticipate getting alot of eggs, and with MFI, anything on day 3 might arrest soon afterwards, so we're OK with transferring three at that point. *If* we are lucky enough to get a good number of eggs, then we'll wait for day 5 and hope for the best!

As for pharmacies, our clinic has a pharmacy affiliated with them (as did our old clinic), but while their prices are "comparable" to other clinics, there are definitely places to get them cheaper! I know there are a few online shops (legit) to order from, but we are fortunate to have excellent drug coverage, so I haven't looked into it too much. Even here in our city, there's a pharmacy that offers a discount on IVF meds! (The owners did IVF themselves apparently years ago?) Point being, shop around! Your RE should be able to give you a list of DIN numbers and you can call and ask what the prices are on each. And like Leah said, you can get them from different pharmacies too!

Hii Leah,,

Thank you so much for your fast reply!!
So cute of you*
Now I understood what you meant... In your clinic they will only freeze the stongest ones.. wow.. okay.. here in my clinic they are freezing all embies which are atleast in 6 grade...(So in these 5 froesties what I have 2 of them were 8 grade and 3 of them 6 grade)...Yeah.. perhaps they are also the strongest ones then?
I agree that normally they wait until day 5 ---. Perhaps my RE was scared that my embies will not live until day 5 that's why I had transfer last time @ day 3?

Aa Okay thanks for the information ,,hehe.. sry I did misunderstood..

I wish you so so so much luck, honey.
Are you not afraid to have triplets in fact that you transfer 3 embies @ day 3 - if the situation will be like that? Which choice you prefer ? 3 embies at Day 3 or 2 embies at Day 5?

Many many many big hugs to you

Leah, I did the exact same thing. I used Walgreen's specialty pharmacy and I liked them overall. One time there was a fex ex plane that was delayed so my meds by one day but since I was ahead of the game by ordering, it was perfectly fine. Leah- what state are you in (if you don't mind sharing)?

Thanks Leah! I've called 5 pharmacies on my lunch break, and Walgreens is actually the cheapest so far (in the US). Going to look outside the country for my next trick! Gotta get our "First Steps" signed up to see if we qualify for any help that way... and then the Heart Plus.. and if we do go w/ Walgreens, there's the New Life Agency discount card to apply for (I'm sure you have that, right?). If we could just win the lottery! That part of the stress would be better. I told my husband that he's not allowed to vent to me about the $$ part of this. He needs to vent to his brother or friends or someone else, I can't take any extra pressure/stress!! I *know* how expensive this is for the both of us... just need to focus on getting some Easter eggies!!

Y'all can talk about pharmacies, meds, etc., it's just frowned upon if it looks like someone comes to the site directly for promoting a specific place. Also, you cannot sell meds via this site- that is against the TOS.

Good luck to all of you!

You guys are quick I need to check in more! haha

Erin I have used Walgreens specialty pharmacy for each of our cycles so far and they were the cheapest for me with joining the discount program. We are also all OOP now that we moved. Definitely shop around though. Even check local pharmacies or ask your RE if they have any recommendations or donated meds that they would let you use. Just some ideas.

Leah on our last fresh cycle we also sat and waited to hear which day we would transfer. We ended up with a day 5 transfer of the best two blasts and got pregnant. The cycle that I was forced to do a 3 day was our only cycle we didn't get pregnant on. Granted Im pretty sure being sick with mono and H1N1 a month and a half before didn't help. lol

I will add that we transferred 4 embryos with my son. 1 was very poor and the rest were great quality and we only have 1 little man so you never know!

Hello, My name is Jen and I am starting my first IVF cycle march 29 with stims, so ER 4/7-4/14 is what they predict. I would love any hints/ suggestions from anyone going through this before/ with me or who has done it before. (I just can't count that I started the IVF cycle with the start of bc pills. It just doesn't seem right) I hope to join you all.I am 37, with blocked tubes and my husband is 44 with no known problems. We have been trying for 19 months.

Good luck Jilly!!! Exciting times for sure! Thanks for the feedback ladies! I've found some drugs from Israel to be the cheapest so far. I know they have regulations in Israel for meds. going to look into it more and see how long it takes to get here. Since we're doing mini/med stim, I have a little extra time... we're going to be starting out with Femara then going to injectables.

I feel better about asking now Jen!! It's insane how much these things cost! I can't imagine a full IVF cycle (then again, you typically doing go into that knowing you'd have to do 3). My coworker said I Need to start bringing cookies to work and selling them to fundraise!

Yep, IVF is expensive. We've been saving since it's 100% OOP for us and we wanted to have enough to pay for 1 fresh cycle + 2 FET cycles before we move forward, especially since we'll be traveling for our cycle(s).

I am not afraid of triplets, I have had 3 fresh and one frozen transfer and I have never gotten pregnant with twins and we transferred 2 embryos each time. This is my 5th and final transfer, so we decided we'd rather have twins or triplets than nothing. My clinic will not let you transfer 3 unless you are over 35 and have had previous failed cycles. I definitely qualify!

I'm torn on the transfer thing. I've gotten pg twice (one was Mallory) on a 3 day transfer, however ,my last transfer was a 5dt and they put in a PERFECT embryo and a perfect morula, and I had just a chemical pregnancy. So, for some reason 3dt's are better for me (in my opinion!). I did, however, get heartburn the night of my last transfer and I had it for over 20+ hours. I think my body was just so stressed out, it didn't work. No more pizza hut Pan Pizza for me!

Hi ladies! Just a little about myself- I'm 35 (actually will be turning 36 this week)-husband is 38. We did 2 years of fertility treatments (injections with timed intercourse and 2 IUIs) This ended in 4 miscarriages. After taking 3 years off I will now be starting my first IVF cycle. My baseline appt is the 25th and should be starting stims on march 29th. Looking forward to connecting with some of you going through this at the same time.

Liyana, it's tentatively 4/2, but it will probably change, I'm sure I'll stim longer than they suggest LOLChortler - I'm so sorry for your losses. Did they get to do any testing to find out why? Have you ever been testing for a blood clotting disorder? I am on baby aspirin and Lovenox to prevent m/c from a possible clotting disorder.

Does anyone know what their E2 (Estrogen/estradiol) levels were at their first bloodwork appt (cycle day 3 or 4) after starting stims?

My baseline was 18.2 (after estrogen priming!!!! ) Mine is at 39.3 today, CD3 ...last cycle it was 68 and they said THAT was low and bumped me up in meds (adding a Bravelle)...my first cycle it was 190.

I'm trying not to get upset, because things can change quickly with IVF...but I hate that I don't have age on my side *sigh*

So now I'll be doing 8 Bravelle a day! That is over $400 a day in meds! Praying so hard this cycle doesn't get cancelled.

I take 2 more Bravelle tonight to try to help bump it up...
