Anyone else starting IVF in January?

I will be starting my first IVF cycle in January, just wondering if anyone else will be joining me!!!

I'll be starting in Jan.I'm already on BCP and will stop on the 30th.I start stimming on 4th.
When will you start?

Hi Aries,
I'm actually not starting Lupron until January 20th, I imagine I will start my stims a little over a week later (day 3 of my next cycle). So I guess that means my retrieval wont be until mid-February. How are things going with you so far?

I am doing an IVF this month. Start stims 1/12/08. Not for me though, hoping to make another lady a preggo momma. Good luck to you all this month!!

Hi ladies,
I'm starting IUIs - Sunday will be my first. May I ask how you and your physicians decided IVF was the best way to go? Do you have special circumstances that will not allow IUI to work? Were you on meds while you were having IUI and if so, when did you decide to do the meds?

Sorry so many questions, I just don't know how long to try IUI before jumping to IVF with the costs being a huge factor.

Sorry if this is too personal but can I ask how you ladies are paying for your IVF? Based on the research I've done it's 30k + and it looks like if we do not conceive within the next 4 IUI's we will have to resort to IVF- It freaks me out because I unfortunately don't have 30k laying around in my bank account....

I did my retrival today. We were only going to do injections for 4 months, this being my first month. But we went to the dr on Tues for my last ultrasound before we triggered, and my body responded to the drugs better than expected, I had 9 foli's that measured between 17 - 20, so my doc decided that it would not be safe to try naturally this month and scheduled me for egg retrival 2 days later. Hopefully we will be transferring on Tuesday, but I find out for sure on Sat what the plan is.

As for the ? on paying for it, we paid for it all out of pocket. Dh's insurance does not cover infertility. After all is said and done with this cycle it will cost us just under $10k this cycle. We only had 10 minutes basically to decide if we were going to do it or not since it wasn't planned, but I wouldn't change our decision for anything

Congratulations to everyone with happy news. This was our first IVF cycle. We transfered two embryo on Jan 24. Just yesterday we got to see the heartbeat of our little one. Amazing.
