Since I've been off/on WW for a handful of years now I've tried a lot and have some brand loyalties, etc. so let's post about what's good tasting and good point-wise! What's some must-haves on your grocery list?

-- hebrew national FF hotdogs -- they're kosher and more expensive, but only ONE POINT each! and they taste SO good, and totally not diet at all. In fact, at BBQs at my moms I'll bring my hotdogs and other people will eat them without knowing they're my diet dogs, haha

-- fat free pringles taste just as good to me as regular and they are 15 or 17 for 1 point

-- skinny cow ice cream sandwiches are way good and cheaper than WW ones

-- for cheese you can have 2 slices of FF for 1 point or 1 slice of 2% for 1 point. I'm not a big fan of the FF, it tastes more rubber-y to me. I usually stick with the 2% cheese

-- you can make really good low point french toast with 45 cal bread, egg beaters, and sugar free syrup & cinnamon. It tastes just the same.

-- I think the salad spritzers are worth the cost and yummy.

... anyway I'll hold off for now, those were just some off the top of my head that are good.

I was looking at the skinny cow ice cream today but didn't buy none so maybe I will next time and I will have to look for those hotdogs because I sure love me some hotdogs!!!! I didn't realize they had FF pringles either woo-hoo you have opened my eyes to alot more Shannon!!!!

I always pick up some peas, greens beans, carrots and broccoli and keep that all the time because it is no points and I can always make that to go along with my main dish for dinner.. I have been keeping pickles to snack on too because they are also no points.. I also have a few of the FF salad dressings that for 2 tbsp is 1 point.. I have the WW ice cream sandwiches and cookies and creme bars too!! I keep some lean cuisines and smart ones in the freezer! This is all I can think of for now!!!

At one point I'd found some fruit jello like cups that were 0 points -- only FIVE Calories or something insanely low. I don't really like jello though, so it wasn't for me... but they do exist! haha!

Also morning star (vegetarian products) has a some burgers that are a point each, and they're pretty good especially if you put onions, lettuce, pickles etc. on em and dress em up... you can find 1 point buns and easily have a little "2 point" snack that's more like a meal. high in fiber too!

speaking of fiber -- fiber one bars ... the chocolate ones are GREAT! They have like 9 grams of fiber and are 2 points so they're the same as granola bars but packed with extra fiber and more chocolate. love em!

I eat 2 point instant oatmeals a lot too so that's always in the house.

OH OH OH and a fab dessert?! get some frozen berries and FF cool whip... it's like a 1 point snack!

green garlic
celery
carrots
beets
shi-take mushrooms
red, orange, yellow peppers
fresh spinach
boston lettuce
cherry tomatoes
cucumber
zuchinni
red onion
raw honey
oatmeal bread
salami
chicken breasts
carribean sausages
cheddar cheese curds
quick oats
flat breads (everything flavor, omg so good)
red & green apples

seriously try finding a farmers market around ur area, i'm SO all about it right now. everything is SO fresh and delicious, not to mention healthy!

ok so i read my list up there and i so wish that it wasn't minus a billion degrees out or else i would go back to the farmers market.
but anyways I have a question Shannon, what brand are 2 pt instant oatmeal? I'm having the Organic Natures Gate (i believe) Maple Nut flavour and its 4 pts, boooooooooo. it is good though and i add a ton of water and let it sit for a while so that it seems like more.

The hot dogs and hamburgers sound like a good idea. maybe i will see what we have in the vegetarian aisle here also, veggie burgers and whatnot have got to be low pts. i also gotta look for low pts buns.

OH OH OH!! and i can't wait to try the recipes you posted shan! u r the bomb!

bumping this thread has so made me want to go grocery shopping.

I buy the store brand (it's kroger) oatmeal for 2 points... but I think quaker has a 2 pointer as well... just look for whichever one has the most fiber since that's what brings the points down. I like the maple & brown sugar ones.

the hebrew national hotdogs are good because they're real meat... i know the morning star (veggie) corndogs are good and low in points... but as far as straight up veggie hotdogs, I'm not so sure. but the boca burgers and morningstar chicken patties rock. the chicken's are higher in points though and about the same as eating reg. chicken I think. I can usually find 1 point buns... they're wheat.

I found these buns today, they are called small wheat dinner rolls, and felt less dense than the small kaiser buns (plus they were smaller).
The store only had the fresh baked stuff, no prepackaged buns at all. hopefully the bun is not like 14 points when i put it in, i basically just have to estimate because there wasnt even calories/fat/fibre on the bag, it just said BUNS! ahh well....i got some veggie burgers to have on these buns i speak of.

pilsbury has some frozen whole wheat rolls that are already baked you just put them in the oven for like 8 minutes or something. they come in a zip lock bag so you can just pull 1 or 2 out at a time. they're really good... they're soft on the inside and crispy (ish) on the outside like french bread and they're only a point a piece.

rach -- you don't need $ to do WW... I don't go to the meetings. You can order a points finder, etc. off ebay for next to nothing and just have someone explain the guidelines ot you. all the meetings are for is the accountability of being weighed in and sharing tips and tricks... which we do here
