ok so I set a goal to work out every day for 40 days - until I go to MN(my sisters wedding). Of course after the 40 days I wanna continue on my journey but maybe not be as obsessed if I miss a day here or there. If you noticed my ticker is under 7 months now until we go to NYC and start ttc. Before I do that I really really wanted to run a 5K so that means that I've gotta keep moving as much as possible.

My workouts have consisted of....
4days/wk - riding bike to work and home (9miles)
wednesday/saturdays - water aerobics 45minutes
tuesday/thursdays - turbo kick 60minutes ---> gosh this kicks my *****

still haven't made it back to hot yoga there was a holiday, then we were at the cottage but I'm planning to go this sunday.

I also need to start walking our dog...she's gettin fat.lol.

Anyways I have done great...I've exercised 9 out of the 10 days so far...sometimes twice a day.... and I have 30 days to go.

I'm freaking tired though, and my appetite has skyrocketed. I just have to keep that under control!

But I have been craving cookies sooooooo bad so I think I'll go online and find a relatively healthy recipe and bake some this afternoon with the kids. It's all about portions right? lol.

does exercise increase your appetite?????
what do you eat to keep yourself satisfied longer????

yes, exercise increases your appetite...your body is saying..this is not the normal amt of activity we do....so you are going to compensate with eating more...it is because our bodies are designed to make sure we don't lose weight...and die of starvation.

exercise also increases your metabolism. When you diet and don't exercise your body adjusts your metabolism lower in order to keep you from starving. But when you exercise your body needs more energy just to keep you going and with weight bearing exercises--you start putting on muscle--which incidently does make you weigh a little more and that muscle requires glucose and more of it...to operate then fat does.

you have changed your body composition from fat to lean--fat does not require much energy to operate and muscle does. Therefore muscle raises your basal metabolism and your overall caloric needs. therefore, yes you are hungrier. I would let myself have a cookie. 1. is not going to hurt.

The sweet cravings are probably from your body not wanting to use your glycogen stores. Another survival instinct.

They say a good protein/glucose snack after exercise really keeps your body in check. You can read up on it though. say yogurt with fruit? with wheat squares. It also keeps that fat burning effect going--so they say.

Hope that helped.
